Art Scilly Week

We have arrived on The Isles of Scilly in time for Art Scilly Week. There is plenty to see and take part in.  Yesterday I spent the afternoon in 'Scilly Allsorts', Phoenix Craft Workshops in the company of the lovely Liza Howells for a class in making handmade cards using friendly plastic. The class was described as an opportunity to play around and create individual cards, using this tactile plastic. It was a great cance to craft and learn new ideas.

Here is Liza in her workshop:

Here are my finished cards, which are going to be included in the exhibition of work by students on Saturday. So I took some quick photos of the cards left out to dry off.

The first card was made using Hero Arts Stamps, stickles, handmade papers friendly plastic and a heart shaped brad.

Patterned papers, 3 medium brads, a tiny brad, friendly plastic, chalk ink and hand made paper.

Corrugated card, handmade paper, rubber stamp, stickles, a crystal brad and friendly plastic.

The final card was made with friendly plastic, seed beads, marbling comb and  handmade papers.

Many thanks t Liza for a brilliant afternoon learning a new crafty skill and look forward to seeing you for another class.
