Easter Bunnies

Had some fun with the Cricut and made some Easter cards. Here are the first few using the Create a Critter and Doodlecharms Cartridges. More inspiration from You Tube.

The card blanks are Craftwork cards. The papers and card are all from scraps I had in my stash.

Happy Easter!

Easter Eggs

In googling the use of the Cricut for Easter cards - I found some useful ideas and tips on various sites. It helped me to realise which cartridges had relevant images and also how to make good use of some of the features on the Cricut itself.

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the basket and eggs, one I have had since I first had the Cricut and haven't used very much, The shaped mat is from the Storybook cartridge.

I made these cards using card blanks and papers from Craftwork Cards.

Punches from Woodware and Stampin' Up and a greetings stamp from Lili of the Valley.

Scraps of ribbon and cardstock were used to finish.

OK off to make a few more - Chicks next!

Thinking of You Cards

I recently purchased the Country Life cartridge for my Cricut and had some fun playing with this. I spent a while recently looking at some of the magazines and on-line and adapted some of the ideas I saw there.
A useful source is Cardz TV with Mary on You Tube

This card uses the pitcher from Country Life with a bow instead of stripes. The mat is made from the Lacy Labels cartridge. The papers are mostly from Magnolia and a selection of Bazzill cardstock.  The card blanks are from Craftwork Cards and Craft Creations.

3D foam pads, chalk inks and some flat back pearls and gems complete the cards.
I have not added greetings to the fronts, as they have all been made for friends who need a cheering up. I have added personal greetings inside each one.

Updated 26/03/12 -I loved making these so have made a few more:

Surprising Day!

We were staying in Suffolk for a few days and on Saturday morning I checked my emails and discovered that the Papermaze Crop as being held that very day. I'm not often there on the right weekends! So with about an hour to spare I got my stash and lunch together and Alan dropped me of at Otley Village Hall. I sat with a lovely group of ladies and was made very welcome. I had met Janina before and she was very helpful and introduced me to Carol, Karen and Tracey. It was good to see Karen Leonard again too, I can't wait to see how her latest project turns out. Vanessa and her Mum, Lesley were busy but managed to reopen the shop so we were able to pop along to see the newly refurbished building and all the super new stock. I don't think Vanessa sat down until about 3pm!

This is the crop kit layout I made while at the crop, designed by Vanessa with beautiful papers from the Authentique Genuine Collection (true, forever and perfection).
The Bazzill cardstock is Beeswax and Indigo
Also included in ther kit were blue dew drops, Doodlebug brads, a doily, and some blueberry Divine Twine.

In addition to the kit the title was created with some Amy Tangerine Thickers in foam rubber, blue chalk ink,  a Martha Stewart butterfly punch, and my circular journalling stamp.
I used a very recent photo of Catherine taken by her sister Emily, last weekend.

Here is Vanessa's original layout.

A good time was had by all and such an unexpected day.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday Anita!

We celebrated the birthday of my dear friend and fellow crafter Anita at our recent crop held at Cardinal Colours. It's not her birthday until next week, but thought I would share this with you.

I made Anita a twisted easel card using a 6" x 6" K and Co. paper pad and a Craftwork Cards card blank. They seemed perfect for this spring birthday.

A Lili of the Valley stamp

The flowers were from a Godiva Easter egg, I added decorative pins, punched leaves, ribbon roses, organza ribbon and glitter.

Lots of flat backed pearls in yellow and flat backed gems in green.

I coloured the image with Promarkers
honeycomb, apricot, oatmeal, ivory, buttercup, lemon, tulip, pastel blue, apple, leaf, bright green, cinnamon, gold cool grey 1, dusky pink, metallic silver and the blender.

The image was stamped onto digital quality white card with Memento ink. The card and Bazzill mount were cut with the Lacy Labels cartridge and the Cricut.

I'm entering this card into The Passion for Promarker's Yellow and Pearls challenge 140.

I also made Anita one of my calico aprons and this is what her name looks line on the front.

Hope you have a great birthday Anita.

Good Luck Catherine!

We had a great day out on Friday, it was Catherine's show in the evening and Emily came home the night before from Nottingham. We travelled to Strawberry Hill to see Catherine in her flat before she set off to prepare, and presented her with a bunch of flowers and this card I made her (very quickly).

Alan, Emily and I took a trip into Richmond and had a walk around by the river, did some shopping and had a meal.  Then we returned to the theatre for the excellent performance. As soon as we get some photos of the performance I will post some here.

Late afternoon in Richmond.

Making it a double!

A few weeks ago I posted a layout about a show my daughter is working on at university. At the time I mentioned I was working on a second page, and here it is:

The title reads 'They Shoot Horses Don't They' around the circle and 'Photo Shoot' reading top down. The tiny letters are from My Little Shoe Box.

Here are the two pages side by side.

I used the Kaiser Craft - Madame Boutique collection as the colours were prefect for her dress.
Beige and turquoise Bazzill Cardstock
American Craft Thickers - self adhesive glittery letters for title
Flat backed pearls
Perfect Pearls
Flat backed glass beads from Quixotic Paperie
Seam binding ribbon from Stampin' Up

We see the show  tomorrow - it has been sold out for some time now - I can't wait to see it.
Good luck Catherine and all the cast!
