Cheers!

Better late than never - I have finished my September entry for the C&S Getcrafty challenge with a day to spare!

A layout for my daughter's wedding album - It's hard to believe it's nearly a year since the wedding now.
This month's challenge is a colour one, using the image below for inspiration.

I used a Placemat from Jillibean Soup - White Chevrons, I have had this in my stash for some months waiting for the right moment.
I had lots of scraps left over from another layout when I used the Gypsy Rose collection from Kaisercraft. The colours were ideal, I just needed to add a little gold in the form of card for cutting the letters for the title.

It may look quite a simple design, but it tool a long time cutting and sticking all the shapes behind the apertures!

I made a set of templates by drawing through each shape, then cutting them a little larger, then I could simply cut what I needed. I used a sheet of white cardstock as a base, sticking the placemat to in along one side only, so I could set it aside like a booklet, to get underneath and stick the shapes to the card.

This is what it looked like before adding the photo and surface details. No need to fill the apertures where they wouldn't show.

I framed the photo with a card frame from the Kaisercraft Full Bloom collection 'Frame Cluster'.
I cut flowers from the 'Inspiring' paper, to make two clusters of blossoms. I added fronds using a Martha Stewart punch and more scraps of paper. A little stickles was added to these leaves.

The title was cut using a Sizzix Sizzlit alphabet die set - 'Block Party', and some Jillibean Soup Mini Alpha - Green Apple.

Thanks for looking.

Atrists at Work

Here is my final layout using the bright, summery August Papermaze Kit. The full details are on the Papermase Blog.

This layout is called 'Artists at Work', and features my three children on the patio in our garden painting at the easels. They were about 2 years old.

I used the Woodware stamps from the kit, with inks and sprays.

The great thing is there is still plenty of kit left for a few cards. Great value for money as the kit is only £10.00 and the additional cardstock is £1.75. Four layouts and some cards or part of another layout.

Back with a new kit for September later in the month.
Thanks for looking.
