Happy 21st Birthday Andrew

Andrew's birthday card in on it's way to America, as he will be spending his 21st in Ohio where he is at university this year.

The gate fold card was made with Basic Grey Basics papers, and some gold Miri card. I resisted the temptation to add anything too lumpy as it has to go buy air mail.

This is the front, and decorated with gold stickles glitter glue and two keys from the element sticker sheet in the Basic Grey Serenade collection. The stamps are from Docrafts Papermania Typography range.

Inside I used a stamp called 'Huge Happy Birthday' by Woodware. Each of the letters was stamped a second time onto different patterned papers, cut out and placed over the original. I added lots of chestnut brown chalk ink to all the edges and stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink pad.

Happy Birthday Andrew - looking forward to seeing you on Skype later.

Colourful Cards with Sandra

These are the cards I made at Sandra's Colourful Cards Class at Cardinal Colours Crop Weekend.
The girls and some of the elements are from stamps by Kanban. I used Promarkers to colour the images. Although some like the cards themselves were spritzed with colourful Mica Mists.

I purchased a second kit and made four more cards - changing colours, and girls in places. So you will see two of each card below.

Oops she lost a green bow from her boot!

This easel card (below) has a scalloped acetate semi circle which is a little difficult to see in the photo.

This one (above and below) has a pocket which holds the large tag.

Another card with acetate, this time as the card front. It also features two glittered cupcake stickers.

Sandra's kit included lots of gems and ribbon, diecuts, and pieces of patterned paper for us to cut element from.

We had a lovely morning sitting together making these cards. Thanks Sandra for a great class and some adorable cards.

Our Young Gardener

This is my page created in a class taught at Cardinal Colours crop by Linda.
The papers are from Kaisercrafts Pickled Pear collection. Lots of elements on the papers to choose from.
The splats were created with Tim Holtz distress stains.

The fan of cards was created from three card selected from one of the papers. The remains of this sheet was used to create the paper rolls using the pattern on the reverse side.
Elements were added with 3D foam pads. The die-cut clock faces were made with a Marianne die.

The photo of Andrew was taken some years ago in our back garden when he was helping Alan cut back some bushes.

Here is Linda's original:

Thanks for the class Linda :)

Birthday Bash Banners

Andrew, Catherine and Emily have their 21st birthday on 31st and here are the banners I made for the celebrations. I will put Andrew's banner up in the house even though he won't be home from America until July. At least he can see some photos.

They were made with the Cricut and the Birthday Bash cartridge. I used the Cricut Craft room to get more out of each sheet of card and paper. I used various different colours of Bazzill, and papers from Doodlebug Inc. (Sweet Cakes and Petite Prints), My Mind's Eye (Hip Hooray), We R Memory Keepers (Love Struck) and Little Yellow Bicycle (Hello Spring). I also used a great deal of red and pink satin ribbon!

 A closer view.
Happy birthday to you all. xxx

An unexpected treat for a wet day

We are at the end of a week in Cornwall and as you will have need on the news and weather reports the weather has been very wet! We have still ventured out every day and visited many different places, even if the roads were blocked by water in places.

Yesterday, Alan Googled craft shops in the area and we set off to find Scrapbook Magic, which claims to be Cornwall's newest and best stockist of Scrapbooking materials. We were not disappointed, the shop with studio is situated within Mullion Meadows so is surrounded by other lovely shops selling homemade goods including a chocolate factory and a cafe.

The owner Margaret was busy making tags with some Indigo Blu products, but took time out to show us lots of the classes she and others had taught there. we also enjoyed leafing through her scrapbooks. She has a great range of materials in stock including Sizzix, Fancy Pants, Tando, Graphic 45, Tim Holtz, 7 Gypsies and Indigo Blu. There is a wide range of tools for use in class.

If you are ever in the area pop along and have a look at the lovely shop, so much inspiration there in all the hand made items on display. You can also shop on line.

After the shop we had a lovely lunch in the cafe then did our Easter shopping in the Chocolate Factory (they even catered for the milk intolerant - so Emily was not forgotten!).

At least with the cold wet weather the chocolate won't melt!

Happy Birthday Anita

Earlier this month I showed you a cake I made for Anita with pigs bathing in a hot tub. Here is her card.

I used a stamp I purchased at Ally Pally last autumn, from Dimensions Stamps. The papers are all from October Afternoon. My card blank is Craftwork Cards 6" x 6" scalloped white card. Stickers are October Afternoon and unknown from my stash.
I stamped the whole image twice, coloured the pigs with my Promarkers and cut them out and mounted them over the other pile of pigs image. They are all glittered up with crystal Stickles.

Happy Birthday Anita x
Thanks for looking.

Shamrocks, hearts & Rainbows

My second design team card for Scrapology is a simple but effective card using just Bazzill and some flat-backed pearls. It is based on an idea I saw on Pinterest.

I made a card with green Bazzill, then made a panel in white Bazzill mounted onto gold Miri Card. I ran the white through the Big Shot in a Cuttlebug embossing folder and rounded the corners of the white and gold layers.

I punched six hearts with the Stampin' Up heart punch, these were folded in half and arranged as shown above. I cut the stem free hand. A button threaded with twine was added to the centre of the shamrock.

A flat-backed pearl for every colour of the rainbow was then arranged in an arc over the shamrock.

The remaining scraps of green card were used to cut the letters using the Typeset Sizzlet and the Big Shot.

Thanks for looking - more details of the challenge on the Scrapology blog.
