Peartree's 5th Birthday Celebrations: Challenge Four - Lynn's 6th Birthday Party

Challenge 4 from Peartree's 5th Birthday celebration challenges, is to use just five colours on your layout.I used this photo of my own 6th birthday party showing a few of my girldriends with our heads together over a book. Look at those hair ribbons!

For this layout I cut the Treat 1 freebie cutfile for the 5th birthday celebrations. Thi!s has five candles, but maybe I should have added another one.

I used a sheet of 49 and Market paper - Spectrum Gardenia - Painted Foundations - Backdrop. The cut file was cut using black Bazzill, and I backed it with three shades of red and white Bazzill, as well as gold and silver card.

My title was made with Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup letters in Silver. I added a touch of Nuvo Glitter Drops to the dots on one of the candles.

Happy 1st Birthday - Bee Happy

I made this double page layout to celebrate my granddaughter's 1st birthday. The photos were taken by my daughter at their home.

For both pages I used a Simple Stories collection called Say Cheese - Classic Pooh.

For the first page I used:
SS - Say Cheese - Classic Pooh - Spledniferous! (border), Sweet as Honey (main background),
4x6 Elements (tags, and letters), 2x2 & 4x4 Elements (letters) and Cardstock Stickers.
Seam binding ribbon - gold
Pollen Sequin Mix - Little Things from Lucy's Cards
Cricut

For page 2, I used many of the same papers and stickers as for the first page. With the addition of:
SS - Say Cheese - Classic Pooh - 100 Acre Wood
My Creative Scrapbook cutfile for daisy background
White, grey and orange Bazzill cardstock

Happy Birthday Scarlett

Today is Scarlett's 3rd Birthday and I made her a clock and a card. They were based on the theme of a layout I made recently with a photo of her dressed as a ladybird.

I have already shared the layout. But today I'm sharing the card and clock.
I had some clock mechanisms and the chipboard clock faces left from projects I had done at Cardinal colours a few years ago. So together with the Cricut and Doodlebug Designs papers. I created a birthday set for little Scarlett's 3rd birthday.

I made a gift box in which to keep the box safe.

Happy birthday Scarlett. xxx

Happy Birthday Teenager!

I wanted to make a card for Jessica's 13th birthday, and I was inspired by the Basic Grey Fresh Cut papers I had on my desk from completing a layout for Scarlett's Birthday layout.

For the card I took a white card blank and using patterned papers, cut three different sized deckle edges rectangles using a set of Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits dies. I inked all the edges with Black Soot Distress ink. The greeting was stamped with Archival ink and Avery Elle Clear Stamp (Sentimental Too), across the largest rectangle.

The rectangles were stuck in lace on the card, then I flicked Black Ink using a Dylusions Spray.

Using the Sizzix dies from the detailed butterflies thinlits set, I cut a Base butterfly from patterned paper and a matching detailed butterfly from Black cardstock. I built these up on the card using 3D foam pads, adding antenna in the form of black stamen.

I added two words using the letter stickers from the Fresh Cut collection. The large number was cut with some dies from Crafter's Companion.

I still had some left over papers from the collection, so continued making cards in the same way to add to my stock. I used up all the sheets of paper from the collection that had already been cut into. A good bit of stash busting!!

Hope you had a lovely birthday Jess.

Happy 90th Birthday Jean!

Today is Jean's 90th birthday! Her celebrations were held at the weekend and this is the card I was commissioned to make for her.

I used a whole selection of Crafter's Companion dies and papers to make this card. I inked the edges of all the die cuts with Distress inks. All mounted onto a 6" x 6" white card blank.

Wishing you a very happy birthday Jean.

Laboratory Birthday Card

I can now share Jack's birthday card, although his birthday was last week he didn't get his card until returning from holiday. As he is a pharmacist I thought the Laboratory Sizzix Thinlits die set from Tim Holtz was ideal to make Jack a card.

I used some scraps of Kaisercraft Basecoat papers for the background and for the shelving. The jars, liquids, labels, stoppers and bubbles were all cut from watercolour paper which I had coloured with various colour mixes using Distress Oxide Inks and water. some jars were stuck straight down to the card and others were raised up on 3D foam self adhesive pads.
The mortar and pestle were created using one of the liquid dies and the neck of one of the bottle dies.

Happy Birthday Jack.

Distress Oxide Birthday Cards

Three cards to share today, all made with the bright rainbow colours of Distress Oxide Ink Pads.

The 6" x 6" card blank was inked with a blending tool around the edges, changing the colours as I worked around. Then I used a stencil by Echo Park Party Time - Birthday Candles and blended more colour through it onto a piece of watercolour paper cut a little smaller than the card blank.

I coloured another piece of watercolour paper with a rainbow of colour and then die cut letters and shapes using dies from Crafter's Companion. I attached pieces of Baker's Twine in various colours to look like they were attached to the baloons.

Happy birthday Mum, Jean and Sandra. xxx

Happy 60th Birthday Hilary

Happy 60th Birthday to my dear friend Hilary, we have been friends since we were Girl Guides together back in the 1970's. Hilary Held a Tea Party at Bromley Court Hotel last Friday to celebrate. I made this card for her.

An 8" x 8" scalloped card base and a piece of paper cut to fit the front from my stash. Then I cut cups, saucers, cakes, biscuites, cherries, letters, words and numbers all cut from white card using Crafter's Companion dies. The silver spoons were also from CC, but cut from silver miri card.

I arranged the cakes etc. around the edges of the card and piled the cups in the centre under the 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY'  banner.

All the die cut items were inked with Distress Ink in these colours.

Some of the letters have added sparkle, using Crystal Stickles., and Nuvo drops added to the cupcakes.

Many happy returns Hilary xxx

Happy Birthday Anita! A card, Cake and the Snow

My lovely friend Anita had a big birthday last week! Here is the card I made for her.

This was created with the same Distress Oxide techniques as the card I made for Mother's Day.
I have used dies from Crafter's Companion's Vintage Tea Party collection and watercolour paper. The lettering is also cut from Crafter's Companion dies.  The cherries are shiny thanks to plenty of Glossy Accents and the lettering sparkles due to Crystal Stickles.

We celebrated Anita's birthday while we were away at Easthampstead Park, enjoying our annual retreat.

The cake I made survived the journey!

Here I am with Anita, Karen and Jackie in the grounds, we went for a walk to take photos in the snow.

Happy birthday Anita.

More Calendar Girls

Time to catch up on blogging some of the cards and other things I made over the last few weeks. There have been so many birthdays in March. Here are four of the cards I made to give my lovely, crafty March birthday friends.

Again I used the Lily of the Valley Digi Stamps - Thoroughly Modern Misses images, together with their Monthly Traits wording. It is interesting to note that this company has now become digital only.

The Happy Birthday die is by Presscuts and the upper case lettering dies are a set by Die-Namics.

I used various 6" x 6" paper pads from my stash to make each card, together with ribbons and cardstock. All the cards are 6" x 6". I coloured all the images with my trusty Promarkers. Another change to note, and which I only discovered as I needed to replace a few colours after many years and much work. They are now produced by Windsor and Newton and not Letraset. I like the way the end cap is now labelled with the colour and code.

The first birthday to be celebrated by the crop girls was Jane, ...

 ... closely followed by Jackie.

I was priviledged to spend the day with Jill on her birthday as we were all away together for our annual weekend of crafting at Easthampstead Park.

Last, but not least, Alison's birthday was earlier this week.

There was another special birthday this month within our group, which I will share later. Also still to come this month are my own three babies with their 26th birthday on 31st.

We have many birthdays in January for our family, so I'm busy catchin up with the blogging of the cards I made.

Oliver, Hannah and Lucy were nine this year, and I decided to get the Cricut going for these cards.

I used a selection of papers and cardstock from my stash.
I used the Hello Kitty Greetings and the Robotz cartridges with the Cricut.

I inked the edges with distress inks and added a little sparkle with Crystal Stickles.

Happy birthday Hannah, Lucy and Oliver.
