Group Hug

The Photo
I found this old photo printed out some some years ago taken when we first had a digital camera and they were quite a new thing. I guess this was taken in 1999, judging from the 'gaps' between the children's teeth, they must have been about seven. Pictures taken in 2000 show them with new big teeth, and those in 1998 show them with rows of little teeth LOL!
Looks like I had been ironing looking at all the clothes hanging up in the background. An eternal record of my least favourite chore. Andrew in his favourite red and black Dennis the Menace top, Catherine on my lap and Emily peeking through the middle.

The Layout
My lovely friends Karen and Anita introduced me to the talented scrapper Georgia Keays, she has a distinct style and I liked this layout on her blog. She mainly used the Neighbourhood collection by Crate Paper, so last week I treated myself to a few sheets and made this layout. Normally if I'm scraplifting I would choose different papers. I must admit I thought the papers would be bolder colours than they are, but they are still really lovely.

I used similar papers for the main parts but created different embellishments. Mine were made on the Cricut, with punches and black and white gel pens. I had thought I would add a lot more bits, but stopped here as I was happy with the effect I already had.

Crate Papers - Garden, Visit, Together, Friendly and Picnic, because they are double sided this gave me 10 patterns to play with.
Cardstock - Black and white Bazzill
Punches - Stampin' Up and EK Success
Cricut - Walk in my Garden and Storybook
Other - Buttons, DMC thread, black chalk ink pad.

Thank you for looking.
