Distress Oxide Ink Blending Combos - Week 2

Back this week with some more Distress Oxide ink blending combinations as set out by Kristina Werner's blog. You will find all the details and videos there to inspire you. I started by making four cards with my blending last week and here are my next set. Week to of Kristina's colour blending can be found here.

I made my samples big enough to make into cards. I have treated them all with different techniques. For the blends I used Distress Oxide Inks, Mini Round Blending Tools and foam pads all purchased from Papermaze. I purchased the Neenah Classic Crest Solar White from Crafter's Companion.

Oxide Combo 1 - Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Blueprint Sketch

I stamped a house onto the blended card, with a Woodware stamp. This was cut out and then I re-stamped the door, chimney, hearts and trees onto different coloured areas of the left over card.
I cut out these items and stuck them over the same images on the house. The house was stuck to a white card blank using 3D foam pads.
The greeting was cut using a Crafter's Companion die and some dark blue cardstock.
I lifted some colour from the curtains with a little water brush.

Oxide Combo 2 - Twisted Citron, Pine Needles, Chipped Sapphire

This time I forgot to photograph the blend before setting to work on the card!
I used a set of Sizzix dies - Under the Sea, to cut the elements and arranged them on the pale blue pearl card blank. I stuck some onto the card and others raised a little with 3D foam pads.  I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to decorate. The Greeting was stamped in black Archival Ink onto white card using Tim Holtz stamps.

Oxide Combo 3 - Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, Stormy Sky

For this card I used a Tim Holtz layering stencil - Bubble, to pull colour off the blended card with the water brush.  With the Pretty Wreath die set from Sizzix, I cut the elements from kraft and dark blue cardstock. I would some jute twine around the wreath before sticking it to the card and adding the flowers. Nuvo Crystal Drops was used to make the flower centres and add a few drops of glitter around the wreath. The greeting is a rub-on onto more blue cardstock.

Oxide Combo 4 - Tumbled Glass, Faded Jeans, Ground Espresso

For this card I used another Tim Holtz, Sizzix die, this one is called Branched Birch, and I used Kraft Cardstock, This was inked with some Picket Fence Distress Ink. I punched a circle from silver miri card and attached this to the card before overlaying the trees.

I will be back with the colour blends for week three soon, I finished making them today!

Thanks for looking
