Those Born in '33 were 45 in '78

I read these words somewhere recently on social media and thought it would make a great title for a layout about my Dad, who was born on 1st October 1933 and thus was 45 in 1978. It was even more suitable for a layout about him because he was an avid collector of long playing records, especially of classical music. I remember him telling me he used to purchase a record each weekly pay day at around the time Mum and Dad married. He also designed and made a cabinet to house a record player when they first set up home together. He made most of their furniture.

I made this page using papers form Kaisercraft, The background is In The Attic - Photographs. The record is a die cut sheet from the same collection and called - 'Record'! Then the drawers are cut from scraps of a sheet from the Anthology collection called 'Apothecary'. The letter stickers were from various Basic Grey collections.

Wroxham Barns - Catherine

This is for my daughter Catherine's Album and features photos from our first trip to Wroxham Barns Children's Farm. We took a day trip there from our cottage at Pin Mill, and the children had a wonderful time at the fun fair and farm. I made a page for each of their albums and so this one is for Catherine.

I used papers, stickers and elements from the Bo Bunny Country Garden collection. I added some ribbon, flowers, Nuvo Crystal Drops and jute string.

Ruby Slippers

When working on the March Papermaze kit I had some papers and card left over and thought it would be good to try to create an extra layout. So in between my usual two posts, here is my additional layout.

This layout shows a photo taken in Washington last December, when we visited the  Smithsonian National Museum of American History. We saw this amazing exhibit - Dorothy's ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in the 1939 film of The Wizard of Oz. Several pairs of the slippers were mad for the movie. These are actually a mismatched pair. White pumps were covered with red fabric, painted red soles, sequins, bows made of stiff cotton and adorned beads and rhinestones. This pair has felt adhered to the bottom to muffle Garland's footsteps as she danced on the yellow brick road.

Scrapadoodle Crop

I have six layouts to share from attending the Scrapadoodle Crop in Sudbury on 14th March, just before gatherings were closed down and social isolation as we are experiencing now had been set into motion. There were many precautions already in place and we were much reduced in number as many vulnerable members were not able to attend in order to protect themselves. Tina and her team provided a kit of delightful papers and embellishments, a delicious lunch and some fun games. 

The patterned papers included in the kit were a selection from Simple Stories Simple Vintage Garden District and Prima Georgia Blues.

Three New Family Members - This is the second time I have created a layout with this photo, and still need to do it again so Andrew, Catherine and Emily have one each for their albums. An afternoon in Shenstone Park, when the babies were about 3 1/2 months old, with Marion, Barbara, Heather and me.

 

Such a Cute Little Face - a photo from a few days before the crop of my great niece, Scarlett at my Mum's house.

Spring Watch - Another layout with photos of Scarlett, watching the birds and squirrels from Mum's window.

Cake
