Nursing Friends

I sat down to make some cards last night and this is what I created!

Another layout for my wedding album, and not a card in site!

I used papers I was given for my birthday last month, not a line I had come across before, but similar to Magnolia. They are from Sweden by Maja Design and the collection is called Firka. The papers are double sided and I used Bulle m Blabar, Favoriter and Karleksmums.  I added a sheet of Bazzill, some blossoms and flat backed gems. I used the Cricut to makes the swirls and the little frame. The letter stickers are from Basic Grey's Hopscotch and Kioshi collections.

I scrapped this photo of  our wedding which shows me with my fellow student nurses. The wedding was a few months after my post registration, paediatric training and about 18 months after my general training. There are friends in this photo from both those courses. Left to right Joanne, Varsha, Claire, Annette, Linda, me, Janette and Pat were all very newly qualified children's nurses. Far right - Lisa and Cathy - we shared a flat together while training to be general nurses.

I gutted the patterned paper to make a 1" border, then mounted the 11x11" piece onto brown cardstock and put it back in place to make an interesting border to the while layout. This way the subtle patterns in the paper continue across the layout.

I attached the swirls under the flowers and left the rest of them free of the page.

Thanks for looking.
I would welcome your comments if you have time to leave me a message.
Thank you.

  1. Absolutely stunning Lynn, i LOVE all those elegant swirls and flourishes, truly gorgeous and the papers are really lush too. The flowers looks fab and really compliment the colours in the photograph ( which by the way is rather lovely....how fab to have all your friends there with you too :) )
