Venezia
'C is for Chipboard' is the challenge over on Scrapology this month. We are scraplifting a layout by Michelle Logan. I drew a sketch and we are challenging you all to create a layout with some chipboard, the sketch, Michelle and the design team's layouts as inspiration.
My photograph was taken on a family holiday to Italy back in 2005, when we took a day trip to Venice and had a ride in a Gondola. It was a fantastic day with good weather, food, sightseeing and shopping.
For my layout I tried out a pack of metallic Gelatos from Faber-Castell. I used mint, melon, grape and blueberry, the colours were perfect for my photograph. I dabbed colour round in a circle shape and then spritzed with water and rubbed in with my finger until I was happy with the result. Once dry I built up the layering with scraps of Kaisercraft papers from four different collections - Charlotte's Dream, Lake House, Periwinkle and Sweet Nothings.
I didn't have any chipboard with me so I cut three identical swirls and titles from Bazzill using the Cricut and the Cindy Loo and Chalkboard Font cartridges. I glued them together, then rubbed in more Gelatos. Once everything was in place I got busy glass dew drops, flat-backed gems, and Liquid Pearls in four colours.
I used a brad from my stash for my tag, and the dated is written on a label created with a Stampin' Up punch.
Please pop over to the Scrapology blog for details of the challenge and prize. See what the rest of the Design Team have created too.
Thanks for looking.
Lynn x
