Birthday Girl

Moving on from Christmas, to the January crop at Papermaze. Vanessa designed a fresh, pretty layout using Pink Paislee papers from the Take Me Away collection.

This is my version, using a photo of Catherine at a bowling party held in Bexleyheath for her 12th birthday - half her life ago!!

The layout involved using some Gelato's through a mask and using a stamp.
The papers involved were
Bazzill Basics in Lace and Natural
Pink Paislee - Take Me Away collection - #14, #16, #19 & #20
Various punches were used including a tag topper, a Martha Stewart deep border punch and a butterfly.
The kit included buttons, a pink doily, bakers twine, washi tape and ribbon.
The title was cut using a Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzlits Die - Decorative Strip - Wanted

All the items are available from the shop.

Happy Birthday Barbara

All ready for Barbara's birthday with Gelatos and Sizzix dies.

I used blue and green gelatos to make a background using watercolour paper. I then removed a little colour using a Tim Holtz sernsil and a baby wipe. Pink and peache gelatos were used to colour another sheet of watercolour paper before cutting the bottom solid layers for the flowers, I added buttercup gelato in the centres. I cut these with the Bigz dies.
Co-ordinating Sizzix thinlets dies were used to cut the top layers of the flowers and leaves form plain watercolour paper.
The petals were curved layered by only sticking in the centres.
The lettering is a JOFY stamp and I painted in the 'Happy' with a gelato and a water brush.

Happy Birthday Barbara

Venezia

'C is for Chipboard' is the challenge over on Scrapology this month. We are scraplifting a layout by Michelle Logan.  I drew a sketch and we are challenging you all to create a layout with some chipboard, the sketch, Michelle and the design team's layouts as inspiration.

My photograph was taken on a family holiday to Italy back in 2005, when we took a day trip to Venice and had a ride in a Gondola. It was a fantastic day with good weather, food, sightseeing and shopping.

For my layout I tried out a pack of metallic Gelatos from Faber-Castell. I used mint, melon, grape and blueberry, the colours were perfect for my photograph. I dabbed colour round in a circle shape and then spritzed with water and rubbed in with my finger until I was happy with the result. Once dry I built up the layering with scraps of Kaisercraft papers from four different collections - Charlotte's Dream, Lake House, Periwinkle and Sweet Nothings.
I didn't have any chipboard with me so I cut three identical swirls and titles from Bazzill using the Cricut and the Cindy Loo and Chalkboard Font cartridges. I glued them together, then rubbed in more Gelatos. Once everything was in place I got busy glass dew drops, flat-backed gems, and Liquid Pearls in four colours.
I used a brad from my stash for my tag, and the dated is written on a label created with a Stampin' Up punch.

Please pop over to the Scrapology blog for details of the challenge and prize. See what the rest of the Design Team have created too.
