I back on the Papermaze Blog today with my second pair of layouts using the February Papermaze Kit. A lovely selection of soft natural colours in the papers, card and embellishments. This time I have a family history layout and travel page. Here is my first of these two pages.

Wedding Invitations

Phew! The invitations are complete and sent out! Emily and I have had fun designing and creating them over the last few months. There has been much cutting, scoring, embossing, sticking, printing, die cutting and ribbon tying in this house.

This shows the front, back and inside, with the little pocket for the details of accommodation, RSVP with envelope, gifts & photography sharing.

I designed the invitation based on Emily's ideas and with her choice of colours (Avocado and Buttercream Bazzill Cardstock). I worked out the dimensions and so we could both cut and score easily, I made some simple drawings showing where to cut, fold etc.

Emily worked hard on all the typesetting for the inserts.

I made all the initials and the shadows for these using the Cricut.

Then once everything was printed and cut out, all the labels for the enveloped had been printed, we set up a production line. I might add at that at around this point Emily got a new job in Nottingham and so had to leave me to finish the job off. So the finer points of typesetting detail was finished off long distance, via internet and phone calls!

And now we have moved onto other plans and await the replies.

Happy Easter

This year's Easter cards have been made using the Cricut and an SVG downloaded from My Scrap Chick.

Nearly all the pieces were cut from scrap cardstock left over from other projects.

An extra was cut in white and ran this through the embossing folder.

The edges of all the pieces were inked and I shaped the flowers and leaves. 

Lots of gems, and pearls for flower centres.

The greetings were cut with a Crafter's Companion die.

Snow Globe Sizzix Die Set - Papermaze

My first Christmas project for Papermaze  is now available on the Scrap Paper Scissors Blog. Please view the blog for details on the supplies used to make the Christmas Cards.

I couldn't resist these dies and chose some delightful glittery card, Bazzill cardstock, embossing plates and other dies I made a selection of Christmas cards. I also used miri card and some patterned papers.

A couple more cards I made using the same cardstock and some Crafter's Companion dies.

Hope this has inspired you with your Christmas card making.

Strawberries Everywhere!

Catherine is mad about strawberries and anything strawberry related. So when she and George recently moved into their first home together I thought a Strawberry themed new home card was in order and found the perfect die by Elizabeth Craft Designs (1149 Strawberries). I also saw a design for a card made using these dies by Anita, which inspired the shape, layout and background of mine.

I made a matching tag and filled a white basket with straws, serviettes, a plant, prosecco and of course real strawberries. 

I cut all the pieces from white Bazzill Basics cardstock, and inked the leaves and strawberries with Distress Inks (scattered straw, twisted citron, crushed olive, festive berries, worn lipstick, mustard seed and tumbled glass). Some items were layered up with 3 dimensional foam pads. and tiny dots of Glossy Accents were added to look like drops of water. I cit a 6" circle card blank and another circle with the centre cut out using the Cricut. I ran the inner circle through the Big Shot inside a cuttlebug embossing folder.

The banner was cut using a Sizzlets Alterations Decorative Strip Die - Tattered Banners
The frond was made with Sizzlets Alterations Decorative Strip Die - Spring Greenery

The letters were cut with Sizzlets Alterations Decorative Strip Die - Typeset

The butterfly is a Memory Box die

The flower centres are yellow flat-backed self adhesive pearls.

I created two more cards at the same time.

This one is all win white Bazzill Basics cardstock with white pearls...

... and this one is all made with coloured Bazzill Basics cardstock.
