Life is Good

I'm planning to catch up with some blogging from the Cardinal Colours Retreat and the classes I took part in. On Friday I took a class with S-J using Echo Park 'life is Good' papers.

The photos were taken in Beer, Devon back in July this year.

This is the Life is Good collection, we were given two sheets of double sided paper from this collection.

We used alphabet stickers from the same collection

I used the pink paper and cut a shape using one of the templates SJ provided. Then I cut a piece of blue paper 12cm wide and stuck this over the pink shape towards the left side. Turn over and trim blue paper to fit the pattern of the pink paper. I stuck this to the brown Bazzill base cardstock.

I used two 6x4" photos, and stuck these across the layout as shown.

The flowers were made in three different ways. Make them in a variety of sizes and colours:

1. Some were simply cut from the flower patterned paper.

2. Others were made by simply punching out 7 circles of the same size. One is used as a base to stick the other 6 to. I inked these circles and folded as shown.  Stick all 6 folded circles into position and add decoration to centre.

3. We were shown how to cut strips of paper to the width of our choice. Ink the edges and fold these strips concertina style. Stick ends together. Stick finished circle to a small punched circle using a strong wet glue. Add a cut out flower or button to the centre.

I arranged all the flowers along the top and bottom of the photos until happy with the presentation. Then added in a punched butterfly. I stuck them all down once happy.  Next I decorated the flowers with glitter glues, pearls, buttons and gems. Some were included others from my stash.

Lastly I added my title with the sticker letters from the sheet provided.

Really enjoyed this class thanks S-J and Jill. x
