Time to Celebrate

Challenge #7 in the Peartree Cutfile challenge is to pair up a cutfile with  with a scraplift (original below).

I used this photo from my 61st birthday. Having not been able to go anywhere or see anyone on my 60th last year. this year Alan and Catherine took me to The Walnut Tree in Eye for a lovely lunch.

This layout is also entered for the Dotty About Flair's Surprise challenge #7 Celebrate the Celebration.

Happy Girl

A layout created for the DAF Surprise #4 - challenge #3 which also works for the FTLOPP post Crop challenge.

For DAF it was a scraplift challange and for FTLOPP it was to scrap something 'I never want to change'.

This is happy little Scarlett at home during lockdown.

Love The Shoes

Here is another layout made for the FTLOPP Cake Day Challenge. This is challenge #8, Cupcakes, and the prompts are to use one small photo and to embellish on the photo.

The photo I chose is one of Catherine's wedding shoes. 

I used a sheet of patterned paper I have had in my stash for a very long time. It's from Creative Imaginations  by Teri Martin. I placed a doily onto the paper, then added the photo after mounting it onto silver card. The photo is raised on 3D foam tape.

A selection of lables and word stickers were selected from some Carta Bella sticker sheets.

The title was made from some American Craft glitter chipboard Thickers and some other glittery letter stickers.

Then I went mad with the gems!

Happy 19th Birthday Emily!

Today is Emily's 19th birthday and she is away at university, so for the first time we won't see her on her birthday.  We are looking forward to catching up with her and Catherine and Andrew soon as they will all be home for the Easter holidays.

I made and sent this card to Emily in Nottingham.

I used a Craftwork Cards 6x6" lime green card. The papers, die cut shapes and brads are from Creative Imaginations.  The green glittery letter stickers are from Sassafras. (all from Cardinal Colours).

The stamp is from Lili of the Valley.

I used my promarkers to colour the children.

The selection of flowers, ribbon and brads are from my stash.

Happy Birthday Emily, hope you like the gifts and cards which should be with you by now.

Happy Birthday Jessica

Jessica is five today and I made her a card with my Cricut and the Once Upon a Princess Cartridge.

I cut all the pieces from scraps of cardstock and made up the Mermaid. There are papers from Creative Imaginations, stickles for glitter and perfect pearls.

Pop-up Purse Album

This is another class from the Cardinal Colours Retreat which I was able to take the kit away to make up at home following the instructions from the DVD included in the kit.

The Pop Up Purse Album was designed by Karen Burniston.

The kit content includes so much lovely stash. Products from Creative Imaginations IOD line. Including double sided 12x12" papers, flower brads, epoxy stickers, cardstock die cut stickers, brads (fabric, epoxy, gems and pearls). Then there is the 6x6" chipboard pieces, magnets,templates, wire, ribbon and the DVD.

I decided to use a collection of photos from a lovely day spent with friends who lived in Tunbridge Wells at the time. On the day I have scrapped we all wet to Groombridge.

 This was back in about 1984.

This was an incredible project to work on, the instructions and templates made it very easy to follow, and it all came together very well.

Jill still has a few kits in stock and the price is fantastically good value considering all the stash you get. I have plenty left over for more scrapbook and cardmaking projects.

I used these photos and many other of these friends (Frances, Steve, Helen and Amy), from the 1980's onwards to create one of the first albums I ever made when I started scrapbooking back in 2003. I think I will put together a slide show as it is amazing to look back and see how your scrapbooking changes over the years.

Beloved - Kinetic Scrapbooking

I was not able to take this class at the Cardinal Colours Retreat as was a little busy with my 'make and take' sessions.  So I was thrilled to be able to have the kit to work with at home. It took me some time to work through all this class involved, but I am really pleased with the results. The photos are of my parents' wedding in 1957.

I finished the layout after dark yesterday and so had to wait until today to get a photograph or three!

The kit contains a great deal of stash. The class was designed by Karen Burniston, and uses papers and other products from the Beloved IOD, Creative Imaginations line. There are about (sorry I have lost count as I have cut them up now!) 5 or 6 double sided sheets of 12x12" patterned paper, and one foiled paper. There is a DVD with the class on and two sheets of paper templates. The kit contained clear gems, a pack of epoxy stickers, another of die cut shapes and a sheet of ABC double stickers. In addition to all this there are 4 magnets, 6 pearl beads, 6 jump rings and some gold coloured wire. There was also an Ever Mark CD marker.

The double sided layout involves Kinetics (Ancient Greek: κίνησις "kinesis", movement or to move). It is very clever how from paper you can make a page with moving parts. My layout has turned out a little different as I switched the papers round for the left had page (Absolutely nothing whatever to do with the fact that after identifying what each sheet was for, I still cut up the piece set aside for the left page and made it into a butterfly!).
