Simple Stories & sketches - Part 3

Back with the third of my July blog posts for Papermaze Design Team Blog Scrap Paper Scissors. Continuing the theme of sketches and the delightful Simple Stories - Bloom & Grow collection. If you'd like to go back and read the first July post, you can find it HERE (where you'll find a list of links to sites with sketches).

I used another sketch from Page Maps (May 2016).

Thanks for looking, all details of how I made the page and where to get the supplies are on the Papermaze blog.

Double Sprouts!

Another Christmas layout with the theme of racing sprouts. Just before Christmas 2012 I found some sprout crackers when shopping in Devon. The little wind up clockwork sprouts are designed to be raced. This caused much fun at lunch time on Christmas Day.

This is the first double layout I have made for a long time. I used a Pagemap from the same year.
The patterned papers are from Bo Bunny's Mistletoe collection.

Mum and Dad

We were a small group that year as Robert and Elaine were in Brazil and Andrew was in America.

A few close up photos:

My title was created with an old Making Memories wire and bead 'Christmas' word,
The black letters and numbers are both from Doodlebug Designs Inc. and the 'Sprouts' are American Crafts glitter Thickers.

I used lots of self adhesive gems.

The tree was cut from the papers and embellished with more gems. I added a yellow glittery chipboard star.

A Day Out In London 1973

I was reminded of this photo when I say the designs on these Sassafras Indie Girl papers a few years ago, and the other day I found the photo. One of the papers is called 'eclectic elegance' which sums up the mixture of clothing we wore!
The hidden journalling reads "Mum took us to London for the day to meet up with her friend (my Godmother) Barbara. Barbara took this photo, catching us unaware. Unlike the boy to the right who looks like a statue, but must be posing for a photo himself! I'm in the background taking a photo of Horseguard's Parade - I'm wearing a purple skirt and a white top with red and blue anchors printed all over it (what a combination - but I remember them being favourites). Sylvia (my sister) is in a pink floral smock with rainbow sling back platform shoes, and my brother, Robert is wearing a blue toweling smiley face T-shirt and very short shorts! I remember these clothes and the occasion well."

I made this in response to the current Page Maps Sketch Challenge - Sweet Shoppe digi sketch contest.

I used Sassafras products from the Indie Girl collection (left over from a class I attended two years ago) The papers are Eclectic Elegance and Mellow, also Indie Flag Banner cardstock stickers and cardstock pink glitter alpha stickers (for the date).
The title is Paper Treats white alphabet epoxy stickes from Around the Block.
In addition I used:
Prima brick wall stamp
Burnt Sienna Promarker for journalling
Rich Cocoa Memento Ink Pad
ColorBox chalk ink
Craftwork Cards Card Candi - Autumn Blossom
EK Success retro daisy punches
Decorative Pins
3D foam pads

Pleased to have rescued the photo from one of the old 1970's albums and preserved what appears to be the only photo we seem to have of that day out!

Thanks for looking.
