Spring Animals

This weeks Passion for promarkers challenge is to use a spring theme with an animal. I used this old PSX Easter quilt stamp. Sadly this is the last image I will stamp with it as is has gone all brittle and in cleaning the stamps, it started to break up. I'm surprised I managed to get such a good image from it.

The papers are by Making Memories and the lace punch is by Marther Stewart.

Chocolate Drop Cakes

Come and share a cup of tea and a cake with me all my blogging friends!

I spent some time baking cakes today as we have three 18th birthdays to celebrate on the same day next week. I have made a big chocolate cake and decorated it, then I made a big pink sponge cake, which still needs decorating. I need to go shopping again for more eggs before I can make the third cake.

I found a little book in the book case called '101 Chocolate Treats', my sister in law gave it to Andrew a few years ago, as he is keen on cooking puddings and sweets. It's a BBC Book, by Good Food Magazine.

I liked the look of the chocolate drop cakes and made a batch of these too. They are made with almonds and natural yogurt in the mixture. I made the chocolate frosting for the topping from the same book too.
Well they didn't last as long as they took to bake, so they can't be too bad. lol!

Phantom Thanks

My dear friend Hilary, who I have known since school days, treated us all to a trip to the theatre for the children's 18th birthday. Yesterday we met in London as soon as we could after school and work and headed to the Haymarket for something to eat. I had worked hard at keeping the venue and show a secret, over the last few months. As we headed towards Her Majesties Theatre, you should have heard the squeals of delight as they girls realised which musical we were going to see!

We had a wonderful evening and Hilary had clearly chosen well. We wanted to send her a thank you card and discussed this on the way home in the train. I knew which stamp I would use, after seeing the fantastic costumes of the evening, it had to be Kraftin' Kimmie's 'Polly'! She is available from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. So I have been playing with the Promarkers again and some left over papers from another project.

Tea Time

I wanted to play with my new Spring Tea Party Kit from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. The limited edition set was a mother's day gift from my children last Sunday. I decided to make one large image with all five of the larger stamps. To do this I had to make a set of masks first.

Here are each of the stamps in the set, they all come with an extra smaller image. The are soon to be available individually from Elaine at quixotic paperie

and the sentient stamps thatcame with the set:

Sketch challenge

Passion for Pro markers challenge week 43 is to use a sketch.

This is the card I came up with, using a stamp from my latest Kraftin' Kimmie purchase. This is 'Nadine', and I will introduce you to the rest of her friends later. She is available from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.

The papers are Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection.

Twickenham

52 Walks with My Camera - Twickenham - Week 12

Yet another university visit! Today I have traveled by train to Strawberry Hill and St. Mary University College, Twickenham with my daughter Catherine. She has an interview, workshop and audition so she will be here all day today. I planned to sit in the Internet cafe on campus and do some work. Then take a walk with my camera, and maybe a bus, walk or train somewhere for a bit of shopping. Catherine could easily have come here by herself, but it's nice that she still wants my company.

However it was a very grey day and it rained from mid morning onwards, so these pictures are the best I could do.

Catherine was lucky enough to be in the first group and so was free to go by 13.30. I had worked on some paperwork for work all morning, so we had some lunch and took these photos in the rain. Then caught the train back to London. We found a bus bound for Oxford Street and did some birthday present shopping. Was raining heavily by this time so we were glad to get the bus to Charing Cross and the train home again.

Nottingham

52 Walks with my Camera in 2010 - Nottingham University - Week 11

This week I find myself in Nottingham, visiting the University with my son Andrew. Not as far as Lancaster last week, so we came by car today.

I have been waiting for him to have his interview and took a walk around the campus and by the canal.
