Manchester

52 Walks with my Camera - Week 41

A walk round the city of Manchester, and a ride on The Wheel of Manchester, which gave us a better view of the city and surrounding area.

New and old side by side.

We sat outside in the sun enjoying a coffee in the Shambles Square.
The history of these Tudor buildings and their survival through the Manchester Blitz of WW II and the IRA bombing of 1996 is here.

The words on the plaque on this post box read: "This post box remained standing almost undamaged on June 15th 1996 when this area was devastated by a bomb.
The box was removed during the rebuilding of the city centre and was returned to its original site on November 22nd 1999"

And a picture of me - rather windswept!
