Peachy Poppet

I started work on this layout about two months ago, and last night got around to completing it. The photo is of one of the triplets, Hannah. Taken in the garden of the cottage at St. Mawes back in the Summer. Such a lovely, cheeky face she has. The colours of her dress were a perfect match for these Scenic Route (unfortunately no longer trading) papers I have had for some time now, the came from Linz at Crafty Pastimes (Linz still has some SR papers in stock for just 30p a sheet).

I have been playing with the idea of using diamonds as a background pattern since seeing a layout, probably by the talented Gabrielle, but I can't exactly remember where or when! I cut these diamonds in various sizes using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on the Cricut. They were inked and layered, then I set to work with needle, thread and buttons. The title was cut on the Cricut and stitched in place. I made the spiral flowers following a demo from my lovely friend Anita. he leaves are punched and inked. Some perfect pearls was used to add some swirls and more dimension.

Close up of the diamonds....

.... and the flowers.

Thanks for looking. Tomorrow I will post a layout of Hannah's sister, Lucy.
