Julia

This heritage layout is one for my father's album, Julia is a distant relative but I had four photos of her which have been shared with me via Ancestry.

I made this for the FTLOPP Cake Day (6th Birthday) challenge #3 Red Velvet Cake. The options were to use a hidden element and some red.

For this layout I used four photos of Julia Chancellor, One photo shows when you look at the page, but there are three hidden behind the first when you open out the accordian. There is also all the information I have gleaned about Julia's life:

Julia Chancellor, Wife of 2nd Great Grand Uncle
Born in Chelsea in 1836 and baptised on 19th October at St. Luke’s Church
Julia was the 10th of 12 children born to John Chancellor (1794 -1876) and
Rebecca Mary Wilmott (1797 – 1869)
Julia married Michael Hinde (1812 – 1872) on 19th December 1866 at St. Mary’s Newington
Julia and Michael had 3 children, Frederick Michael (1869 – 1927), Albert Edward (1870 -1951) and Julia Gertrude (1871 – 1913)
Widowed in 1872 when she was 35.
Julia married Arthur Maddison (1833 – 1887), on 20th August 1874 at St. Andrew’s Church, Lambeth. Julia and Arthur had 3 sons, Arthur Algernon (1875 – 1948), Harold Chancellor (1877 – 1925) and Cecil Willmott (1880 – 1858)
Julia was widowed again in 1887 when she was 50.
Several of her children emigrated to Canada.
Julia died in 15th October 1925 in Huntingdon

For this layout I used three Basic Grey collections (papers and stickes) - Bittersweet, Eskimo Kisses and Wassail.
Gems and plearls
metal lock and paper clip embellishment
DMC thread and chain stitches
Doily
Circular journalling stamp
Scalloped Circle Punch

Baby It's Cold Outside

In answer to week four's challenge on the - For The Love Of Pretty Paper facebook group entitled - Wonderful White, I created this layout using a photo of Chelsea and Scarlett wrapped up for the cold. Although the photo was taken at Halloween it looks very wintery.

I used a sheet of White Bazzill, which I gutted to make a frame, to mount the photo and to make the banner which goes across the middle of the photo.
The patterned paper is a sheet of Pinkfresh Studio - Indigo Hills 2 - George
I found the strip of stars in an old pack of Bazzill - Just The Edge strips I had in my stash for many years!
Flat Backed pearls and gems
Letter stickers from four different alphas
Doily
Sequins
Nuvo Glitter Drops
Ribbon
Pearl Buckle

Metropolitan

Here is my third layout, using the Papermaze September Kit. The travel destination themed papers inspired me to stick with my continental theme from before, and create two more Parisian layouts featuring the artwork of the Metro station kiosks. Today's layout is the first of these and the second follows tomorrow. For full details on how this layout was made, please visit the Scrap, Paper Scissors Blog.

Metropolitan - This layout shows a photo of the entrance to the Art Nouveau style metro entrance designed by Hector Gumard. I wanted to pick out the colour and style of the cast iron kiosk to the Rome Station and so I used embossing enamel, and a font and to create the title.

From the kit I used:
Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Coastal collection - Paradise Found
Ciao Bella - The Sound of Summer collection - Coastal Wood
Bazzill: Natural, Quartz and Mocha Divine

2 Tim Holtz thought tokens
Washi tape
Twine

From my stash I used:
Distress Ink
Martha Stewart Punch

Stampendous Frantage Aged Teal Embossing Enamel
Cricut

Large flat-backed pearls
Pink gems

Green Angel

I have finally managed to create a layout for the SCRAP IN COLOUR CHALLENGES - For The Love Of Pretty Paper (Facebook UK Scrapbooking Group) - National Scrapbook Day challenges held from 24th to 26th May 2019. I was busy travelling, entertaining and a few other things that weekend, but the challenges are open until next Sunday, so I have a little time to join in the fun.

Here is my answer to challenge #1, COLOUR LOVE - which was simply to scrap in your favourite colour.

I was very lucky to receive this felt Angel made by my talented friend Anita. She made her in my favourite colour. I was inspired by a layout I saw on a blog called Scraps of Elegance.

For the layout I used some old Bo Bunny papers and stickers from a collection called 'Vicki B'. The big bloom is from Prima and has been in my stash a long time. Various other flowers were also taken from my collection.

The stamps are Tim Holtz - Stampers Anonymous - Flower Jar, stamped with Distress Markers and water. I had the pearl spray, lace, DMC embroidery floss, flat-backed pearls and gems in my stash for some time too. The chipboard Flower Buds are from Dusty Attic.

Here is the Angel, in my garden for photographing, she now lives in my craft room.

Thanks for the challenge and thank you to Anita for the beautiful gift.

Merry Christmas to the New Grandparents

My friends Hilary and Mark became Grandparents for the first time in September. I thought a good Christmas gift would be a framed scrapbook page of their newest family member - Elliot.

I used an Ikea frame and papers and stickers from Kaisercraft. I added lots of gems, pearls, stickles, liquid pearls and some lacy paper strips. The punches for the bunting are from Stampin' Up.
