Lapland - Merry & Bright

A layout showing my nephew and his family on a trip to Lapland UK last December, this layout shows a group photo from this exciting day out.  I'm back with my second post sharing Christmas layouts for this year. The December kit is available in the shop, it has a traditional red, green and white colour pallet. The papers are beautiful and include Mintay, Simple Stories and Graphic 45.

Wild by Nature

The October challenge over on the Peartree Cutfile Facebook Group, is to create a layout using nature as your inspiration. There is also a free cutfile to download, which I chose to use for my layout. 

I used a photo of my daughter Emily in Holt Country Park back in 2000, when we were on holiday nearby. She was very fond of the character Jessie from Toy Story, and wore her hat everywhere.

Christmas Fairy

On Saturday we had an extended Papermaze Crop at Otley Village Hall. The reason for the extended time 10am to 7pm was to help raise funds for the new roof. Vanessa designed this crop layout kit for those who were able to stay into the evening. 

The photo shows Florence, dressed as the Christmas fairy, laying under the tree.

Double Celebration

It's the Scrap A Sketch 2nd birthday this month, so there is a week of challenges. Here is my layout for Day 1. There is also a list of items for the challenges and you are asked to include at least 5 items from this list (see end of post for sketch and list).

This shows both my daughters at a family gathering in London for Heather and Nicholas' 10th anniversary and Nicole and Chris' 50th anniversary.

Today the second pair of layouts made with the seasonal December Papermaze Kit went up on the Papermaze Blog. Here is the first of them, showing Catherine and I were given tickets to go to a Christmas craft fair at the O2 in London, we had a great day out together.

Sweet Moment

Lynn here today with my third layout created using the zesty kit for October from Papermaze. The colour pallet this month is lemon, black, white and jade. For full detials please see the blog post on the Scrap, Paper, Scissors blog.

This layout shows me and my sister in the garden on our bicycles, in what we called our 'sweetie' dresses.

Sew Much Fun

This layout shows a picture of me at Magic Kingdom, sitting at Minnie Mouse's sewing machine.
The Dotty about Flair challenge #19 was a sketch (see below). The Peartree Cutfile challenge was to pear up a cutfile with stitching.

Family Together

A new layout covering two challenges. The Dotty About Flair Surprise challenge #4, challenge #1 Be inspired by this quote:

“Celebrate what you want to see more of”
 
I want to see more of my family, all together. Especially after the Covid 19 lockdown kept us all apart for so long. This photo shows us all together between lockdowns 2 and 3.

For the Peartree Cutfiles challenge #2 was to pear up a cutfile with torn paper.

Summer of Creative chemistry - 102 - Day 2

Back again with day 2 in the Tim Holtz Summer of Creative Chemistry - with  On Line Card Classes - & Creative Chemistry 102.

Here are the seven techniques tried out on day two using Layering Stencils.

Summer of Creative Chemistry - 102 - Day 1

Having fun with the next series of classes in the Tim Holtz Summer of Creative Chemistry - with  On Line Card Classes - & Creative Chemistry 102. I am a week behind, but have been busy with a retreat last weekend and plenty of other things going on with family and friends - more of all that later.

Here are the six techniques tried out on day one using Distress Paints.


With  a bit more detail for each tag and a little information without giving too much away!

1. Distress Paint Marbelling Technique


Distress Paint - salty ocean, seedless preserve, mustard seed, mowed lawn, picked raspberry
Distress Ink - peacock feathers, mustard seen and picked raspberry

2. Coloured Crackle Technique


Distress paint - mowed lawn, forest moss, bundled sage, peeled paint, evergreen bough, festive berries, mustard seed and brushed corduroy. 
Top leaf - Distress Ink - Forest Moss
Bottom leaf - Distress Stain - stormy sky and peeled paint

3. Altered Surface Technique


Jig saw pieces with glossy surface
Distress Paint - broken china, squeezed lemonade and abandoned coral
Kraft Tag #8

4. Eroded Metal Technique


Distress Paint - peeled paint, antiqued bronze, peeled paint, broken china evergreen bough, salty ocean

5. Stamping Resist Technique


Distress Paint - brushed corduroy and antique linen
Distress Ink - dusty concord, wild honey, broken china, twisted citron and squeezed lemonade

6. Industrial Technique
