5 Days To Go - London 2012

With just 5 days to go to the Olympic Games, the torch arrived back in Kent from across the River Thames today and we were lucky enough to be at the club to witness it.

Day 65 saw the flame start in Redbridge at 7.19am before making its way through the boroughs of Barking and Dagenham and Havering. Then it reached Erith Yacht Club at 4.14pm after travelling across the River Thames on board a fireboat.

The photos show Aaron Reynolds arriving at the Club’s pontoon.  Here the torch stayed for a while, so that members of the yacht club, guests, and visitors could toast its arrival.  There was an afternoon of art displays and music held at the Club as part of the celebration. Aaron is the Youth Captain and former RYA Thames Valley Region Sailor of the Year.  The torch then made its way to Danson Park where further celebrations took place.

Back in the club house.

Such lovely weather to be out by the river for the celebrations too.
Thanks for looking.
