12 Tags of 2016 - June - Technique Remix

Close to the end of the month for sharing this one again - but then I have made 25 other tags (plus) for the Creative Chemistry 101!!

For June 2016 Tim has remixed the techniques of Tissue Wrap Collage from January 2015 and Stencil Plaid form June 2015

Here is my version:

Instead of Tissue Wrap I used an old dress making pattern left over from another project. Which led me on to select other dressmaking bits and pieces. As this was already the colour of the vintage Collage Medium, I used the matte. I also used:

Sizzix Distressed Doily and the Sewing Room
Buttons
Flat-backed pearls
Lace
Ribbons
Layering stencil
Twine
White fabric scrap
Bazzill Cardstock
Distress Inks
Dressmaking pin
Safety pin
Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous line - Vogue Components.

Here is Tim's version for May 2016

and the previous techniques which have been remixed:

Finally another view of my tag

Joker Face

Oliver was a little shy about having his photo taken, then he really got into the swing of it and started enjoying himself and pulling lost of funny faces!

We had been talking at the previous crop about the need to use many photographs of an event on one page and also how we might use the bright rainbow sheet of 'Marvelous' paper in the Believe collection by Bo Bunny. May people had purchased a sheet but were not sure about how to use it. So here goes!:

The paper is a rainbow of colour and reminded me of the bright colours in the Tim Holtz Distress Inks collection, so I picked out some inks to use through one of his stencils - Bubbles on a sheet of white Bazzill

I cut my Hexagons with a set of dies - MemoryBox Open Studio 30073 Studio Hexagon Layers.

My Title was made with white corrugated cardboard from an IKEA box and the Sizzix BIGZ Extra Large alphabet die - Block Talk.

Hope those of you who came to the crop enjoyed making the page.
Another one for the triplets' album.

Poppy Note Cards

A quick post with a few of the mini note cards I made recently. They made excellent thank you notes which I sent out after my birthday to those living far away.

The cards are 4" x 4" and layered up with two shades of Bazzill cardstock.
The stamps are from Eclectica³ by Lin Brown Set 23 (Poppy and Tulip).

The leaves were stamped onto the Bazzill and the poppies were stamped onto water colour paper. They were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white embossing powder. The flowers were painted by adding colour from Distress Markers to the craft sheet and applied to the paper with a water brush.

I had fun making these and look forward to creating more detailed cards with these stamps in the future.

Please take a look on the Papermaze Blog to read about my experiments with Tim Holtz Distress Crayons.

You will find I have given some details about the crayons and then moved on to testing out different techniques.

I hope this gives you some ideas for using the crayons. Have fun and please leave comments when you have tried them or to ask questions.

Jekyll & Hyde

Catherine has recently finished working on The McOnie Company's 'Jekyll & Hyde', a piece of dance theatre at The Old Vic. She thoroughly enjoyed being part of the stage management team working on a dance show for a change. I was lucky enough to be given a ticket to go and see the show myself.

I love this photo of Catherine taken from the stage looking out into the auditorium and these lovely Stationer's Desk papers from Prima. The embellishments are all from my stash as  I wanted a variety and these all seemed to work well together. I used several Martha Stewart punches and a Sizzix die. Used up lots of letter stickers from different ranges too.

I was inspired by one of by Kim Woods' layouts which I found in a magazine.

Thanks for looking.

Summer of Creative Chemistry

I thought I would have a go at some On Line Card Classes - I chose Tim Holtz Summer of Creative Chemistry, You start with 101 as a refresher if you have already done it or start afresh if you never had a go before. Creative Chemistry 101 runs throughout June and if that goes well I will move on to the next two classes being held over the Summer - 102 & 103.

Here is what I created during day 2 - using Distress Inks. Just tried out the techniques for now and will make some cards later.

Looking Forward to playing with Archival Inks next.
