Meet The Ancestors!

I think these Hipsters characters from Tim Holtz are one of those things that you either love or hate - like Marmite! I must admit I wasn't sure, but they have kind of grown on me.
While away at our recent scrapbooking retreat, I got to play with these stamps and dies (Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamps and the coordinating Sizzix Framelits Die Sets).

There are five characters in the set. 

I cut the glasses in black cardstock but it would be good to cut them from different materials, such as metallic card.

I painted the images before layering them up with 3D foam pads. I added some shading behind each image. The painting was all done with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. 

The glasses were glazed with Ranger's Glossy Accents.

I will probably remove these from the frames and make cards with them, but it was fun to frame them for this blog post.
