Merry Days

The Bramble Fox Friends / Facebook Group challenge for February is called 'Pocket Fun' - Tuck in more photos or ephemera into a pocket or envelope. In answer to this challenge I made a layout for my daughter with photos taken in the garden just before their dance school summer show back in 2002. Christmas in July. The tap dance was to ' Santa Claus is Coming to Town' in a show call 'A Date to Dance'.

Mary Jane Billington

This old photo was given to us recently; the lady is my husband's grandmother. The layout is my second using the February kit from Papermaze. The kit has a selection of pretty romantic papers, together with Bazzill cardstock and embellishments. Please see the Papermaze Blog for details of how the layout was made.

Spring, Spring, Spring

I created this layout using a Wednesday Sketch (5/2/25) from Paper Issues, Facebook page. I chose this photo of my dayghter, Catherine dressed for a ballet dance to the song - Spring, Spring, Spring. This was part of the Silvera School of Dance, Summer show held at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford. The show was called ' A Date to Dance'

I chose the 49 and Market Krafty Garden collection to work with Catherine's yellow dress and floral headdress. The background paper is 'Tranquil Blossom'.

This is the sketch:

I made two tags using the Sixxix Tim Holtz Tag Collection thinlits die set, and the cover sheet from the Krafty Garden Solids collection pack. I looped some yellow jute twine through the top of the tags.

For embellishments I used two film strips from the Krafty Garden Acetate Assortment and flowers from the Lasercut Wildflowers elements pack.

Family Gathering - Easter Egg Hunt

The photo on this layout shows tha family gathering together at Easter, and taking part in an Easter egg hunt using What 3 Words locations as clues. The layout is the first one I have made using the new February kit from Papermaze.

Year 3 School Portrait - 3 x 3

I have been meaning to try the technique using alphabet stickers to fill a shape, which I have seen several scrappers try in the past. So, I chose this school portrait of the triplets back in 1999, when they were in Year 3. It is also a great way of using up some letter sticker stash. Hence, why I ended up making three layouts using the same photo, one of each of the children's scrapbook albums.

I cut a circle from the centre of a scrap sheet of cardstock. and used the outer card as a template to lay over the white, to fill with stickers.

I started with this one first, for Andrew's album, and used the ramains of a pack of Thickers - Nutmeg, Glossy Chipboard Letter Stickers.

All three layouts were based on a sheet of Smooth White Bazzill. for this one I flicked some red, blue and yellow Distress Oxide Inks onto the card first, as I was using just green letters.

I found this apple sticker in my stash, I'm nots sure where it came from, but it's made of some sort of soft plastic. I wrote the journalling around the edge of the circle.

My second layout, made for Emily's Album, was made by using one or two stickers from many different sticker sheets.

For Catherine's layout, I used my stash of Basic Grey, Cafe Rojo font stickers.

Piglet Mania!

Today I created this layout of my baby granddaughter, Florence. When I visited her recently I took along a whole bunch of soft toy Piglets. They were a gift to her from my sister, shehas collected them over the years and decided to give them to Flo.

I selected some papers from the Simple Stories - Life in Bloom collection. The 'Dream On' paper is the main pink paper, with butterflies on the B side. I cut this to 12" x 5", and 12" x 7", and placed them sisd by side on a piece of scrap 12" x 12" paper, jist sticking along the far left and far right. Then I placed a panel of 12" x 7" of the B side of 'Journal Elements' paper onto the scrap paper, to cover where the top papers meet. Then I folded the top layers back on both sides, top and bottom.

I placed my photo over the place where the papers meet. I cut two tags from the 'Tag Elements' paper, punched holes in the tops, added pink brads (with little hooks attached). and threaded some jute twine through the hooks.

My tilte was made with Be Kind Foam Glitter Thickers.

Using the 'Combo Stickers' sheet, I embellished the layout with bunting, phrases and flowers.

Sweetheart

Saturday was crop day at Papermaze, and Vanessa had designed the crop layout kit this month.
It's a great design for February being the month of Valentine's day.

Here is my version, showing my baby granddaughter at her sensory group - Love Bug themed session.

Welcome Home

The day my baby brother came home from hospital about two weeks after he was born in June 1968! The photo shows me holding baby Robert and my sister Sylvie beside me.



This layout was made as a practice run to get the heart layout how I wanted it for another layout (which I have made using the Papermaze February kit and will be sharing with you on 17th).

I used a sheet of Cream Bazzill and splattered Distress Inks over the page, in red, yellow and blue.

I cut hearts from Simple Stories - Simple Linen Market Collection papers. I used scraps of different papers from this collection from my stash. I cut the shapes with three dies from the Tim Holtz, Sizzix Thinlits set - Stacked Tiles - Hearts.

The hearts were arranged in four rows of four, then I stitched through the rows, with black thread and a long stitch on the sewing machine.

Using Cardstock Stickers from the same collection, I added the scalloped border to the top of the page, and some phrases to each heart. I also used hearts, insects and flowers from the sticker sheet.

For the title I used some Doodlebug Designs Alphabet Soup puffy letter stickers, Bumblebee and
Blue Jean.

On the Papermaze Blog you will find the second post using the January kit. This is my final layout and it features these photos taken at the garden centre cafe, when Florence was taken to meet up with her uncle and two aunties.

Kew at Christmas
