Erith Yacht CLub

52 Walks with my Camera 2010 -week 36
Official Opening Ceremony of the New Club-House
12th October 2010

Today was the official opening of the club-house at our yacht club. We were very lucky with the weather especially as the ceremony was held outside.  We were also fortunate the ceremony was in the morning as we needed to drive to Manchester today to take Andrew to his university accommodation tomorrow morning. So I am writing this blog entry in the hotel bedroom.

While waiting for the ceremony to start I walked around the grounds. Take a look on the club website to learn more about the history (110 years of it), and all the facilities, courses and membership.
Here are my photos from this morning:

Views of the Thames from the clubhouse and surrounding area.

... under the clubhouse

The Club-House was opened by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston. The Mayoress of Bexley was also at the opening. There was a blessing by Father Dane Batley-Gladden.

There was a cake, champagne and a lovely buffet lunch and we just had to take a few photos of these treats:
