A Knubbelchen II & III

After the success of the first Knubbelchen, a snuggle comfort baby toy, made for Elliot for Christmas, I made a yellow / blue one while in Scotland last year.

I knitted another one for Catherine. Her friend had a baby girl, called Willow. So I got the pink wool out this time.
I used three 25g balls of My First Regia in Anna (white), Pia (pink) and Isabella (multi).

I have got used to knitting in the round now and have made a total of three of these dolls now.

Here is the original one.

Knubbelchen is the brain child/needle child of a designer known on Ravelry as Pezi888 from Germany.  The pattern is free on Ravelry.

Gum Ball Machine Birthday Card

Looking for something for my brother's birthday I had a look through my SVG files and found this one from My Scrap Chick, It was bright and fun for a summer birthday.

Using lost of different colours of Bazzill Cardstock and the Cricut I cut out all the bits and pieces. I also used some silver Miri card for the metal parts.
The edges of all pieces were inked with Distress inks and some were highlighted with a white gel pen. 3D double-sided foam pads were used to add dimension.

The finished card rocked slightly as the base is not straight so I devised a prop from a scrap of card and attached insied the front of the card so it folded away when in the envelope. It could be opened up and hooked over the back of the cards to hold it up when open.

Happy Birthday Rob!

And Then There Were None ...

I have created a series of four layouts and some cards for the Papermaze blog to be revealed over the next few weeks, They have all been created using the Graphic 45 - Vintage Hollywood collection. I think these papers are fascinating with all the attention to detail on each theme, but sometimes that makes them a bit of a challenge to use for scrapbooking pages when you need the photographs to be the focal point. Please follow the links on the blog to take you to the shop.

I had four sheets of 12" x 12" paper and a sheet of cardstock stickers. Together with some Bazzill cardstock I have created four layouts and some cards. Here I'm sharing the first layout.

I was drawn to this collection as it was ideal for featuring photographs of some of the plays my daughter has been involved in. This one is no exception - Agatha Christie Co. - And Then There Were None - 2015 UK Tour. The photos show the crew and company on stage and another of the programme.
Please see the Papermaze Blog and shop for details.

Father's Day

I was asked to make a Father's Day card for a Dad who is a ex-jockey and keen horseman.

I remember the cartoons by Thelwell from my younger years when my friends and I all had riding lessons and loved anything to do with horses. So the Crafter's Companion Thelwell Twin Papercrafting CD Rom proved to be the answer. You can also download individual Digi Images from the website if you don't want the whole collection. I picked 'Lazing' as it seemed appropriate for relaxing on Father's Day.

I used:
6" x 6" card blank
Crafter's Companion Word Die Bundle - Male
Kaisercraft Basecoat
Basic Grey Urban Couture
Promarkers
Quite a simple card, but relevant for the event.
Happy Father's Day.

A Perfect Memory

This layout has been in the making for some years! It's travelled to many crops and it's finally finished. I got the idea from the clever scrapper Elaine Rolfe and a layout I saw in the Scrap 365 magazine.

The photograph shows my gran (Winifred), with her two children (Peter my uncle and baby Mary my Mum).

I used some old Basic Grey papers and stickers from the Curio collection. The magnolias were fussy cut from the papers and layered with 3D foam pads.
Also used:
Martha Stewart deep edge punch & border punch
K and Co. Butterfly Stickers
American Crafts Black Twine
Eyelets
Kaisercraft - Edges Clear Stamps

Cookery Album

For my second Papermaze project for May, still using the Bo Bunny 'Kiss The Cook' collection, I made a cookery album. I have been looking at 'You Tube' videos on how to create albums. I love the idea of paper engineering to make something that is practical and appealing. Please see the blog for details on how it was made and where to fing all the materials used.

This is a work in progress, and I will add to the album as I discover new favorite cake recipes.

I hope this has inspired you to have a go at making your own album, for photos, recipes, journalling or another purpose.
