Summer Harmony Blanket

OK so it's winter, but I have now completed my Summer Harmony Blanket. I made the last stitches to the border while away on holiday in the Lake District, back in October. This is a clever design by Lucy of Attic 24. Although this was released in parts back in All parts of this design are available on her blog.

A different approach this time, working all of the first rounds, then all of the second and so on. Ending up with 100 complete squares.

The squares are not joined randomly, Lucy has spent a lot of time working out a colourwash effect, running diagonally.

The border was created with all the colours from the squares and two different rounds of stitches.

 Thanks for looking.

Christmas Crop Cards

Over on the Scrap, Paper, Scissors Blog, I have written a post all about the make and take we did at our Christmas Crop. We made special Christmas cards using a Kaisercreaft Card Creations Die and papers from the delightful, Authentique - Colourful Christmas Collection.
Please go over to the blog to read how they were made.

To add sparkle to the project I introduced the use of Creative Expressions - Cosmic Shimmer - Glitter KissPlease see Julie's review of this product from earlier this year.

Here are a few made from the same paper collection.

Thanks for looking & Merry Christmas

Happy Birthday Elaine

It was Elaine's birthday on Friday and we all got together to celebrate last night.
I made her a card with the Lili of the Valley digi stamps from the Thoroughly Modern Misses collection. This time I chose the February girl together with the 'Monthly Trait' for December.

I printed them onto digital cardstock and coloured them with my Promarkers.

The greeting is from Crafter's companion, and the patterned papers and ribbons are from my stash.

Happy birthday Elaine

New Baby Girl - Card and Crochet

Baby Scarlett Rose joined our family on 28th November. Here is the card I made to congratulate my nephew Sam and his fiancĂ©e Chelsey.

The image is from Lily of the Valley, stamped with a Memento ink pad and coloured with Promarkers. The patterned papers and ribbon are from my stash. The cardstock is Bazzill and the rosette was cut using a Sizzix Sizzlit Decorative Strip die - Mini Paper Rosette. The words' Girl' and 'New Baby' are cut with Crafter's Companion dies. The cards was finished off with some Distress Ink, Liquid Pearls and flat backed pearls.

I also made Scarlett a bunny Lovey to snuggle up to.

Impressed by the work of my friend Alison, who has made several of these in different colour combinations - I looked for a pattern to download. I found this one by Amy Ramnarine - The Stitchin’ Mommy at www.thestitchinmommy.com

Welcome Scarlett Rose

Happy Birthday Heather

Today is Heather's birthday and I made her a card using the new Thoroughly Modern Misses digi stamp for December from the collection by Lili of the Valley. I also downloaded the 'Monthly Traits' to go with the girls.

I printed the girl and the trait onto watercolour paper, and used my Distress Inks to colour the image.
My greeting is a Crafter's Companion die.

The old patterned papers and ribbon were from my stash.

Happy Birthday Heather, lovely to see you today and hope you had a good evening with the family.
