5 4 3 2 1 !!

Here is my second layout with the Scrapaholix October kit. I added a few bits to the Daisy Bucket papers. The ribbon and the ribbon charm are from Jill at Cardinal Colours. The colour chip is from Dulux! The numbers are from Basic Grey. The background is Core'dinations black card stock.
The photos are of Catherine dressed for her part as TV presenter in this summer's show, Disco Inferno.

Special Family Bond

Last night I started work on the October kit for scrapaholix.

When I saw all the black and white I thought I would add colour as a contrast, but here is the finished LO and no colour added, it worked without. The only tiny bit of colour is in my daughters nail polish and Oliver's babygrow, and the two just happen to match perfectly!

The journalling reads "Special Family Bond. 6th March 2009. Catherine's first cuddle with baby Oliver. Not only are Catherine and Oliver cousins, they are also both triplets!"

This kit contains (all 12"x12") plain white cardstock, Black Cordinations, Daisy Bucket 'Little Black Dress' papers, a length of white organza ribbon with black spots, two balck and two white blossoms, black and white felt, sand paper and a pin! I used a Page Map from August 2009

The technique is paper piercing. I pierced a circle and patterns onto my layout, then with black embroidery thread joined up the holes. I added two black and white brads from my own stash. The title lettering was done using three different alphabets from my own stash, velvet lettering for 'special' and felt lettering for 'Bond', both from Making Memories. The word 'Family' uses
letter stickers from Doodlebug Designs.

For the journalling I wrote on white cardstock. I cut this into strips and inked the edges with chalk ink. The crystal brackets at top and bottom of the photograph are by 'Say It With Crystals' from Prima Marketing.

There are lots of papers left over so I will be back with more!

Daisy Bucket

The August Scrapaholix kit includes some pretty feminine yet nautical papers from Daisy Bucket Designs – The Nantucket Island line. In the kit you get 2 sheets of double sided patterned paper, four sheets of Bazzill Card stock -1 sheet dark blue, 1 sheet turquoise and 2 sheets white and 2 pieces foil.

My first lay out is called 'Beside the Seaside' and includes a postcard and two photos of Southwold, Suffolk taken in 1999. I used a very small amount of the 'Beach House' paper for this page. The title was stamped with Making Memories foam stamps and their turquoise paint. The smaller words were cut using the ‘Playground’ Sizzlet font.

My second page is titled 'Something Blue' and is part of a series of layouts to go in a wedding album, so needed little journalling. It shows my daughter, Catherine when she was a bridesmaid for her cousin Heather two years ago. This layout was made with the ‘Harbour View’ paper and lots of tearing and inking. The title was cut on the Robo with white card and coloured with chalk inks. The flower is made using the Sizzix 'Pansy' die. The butterflies are made with foil and the Cuttlebug butterfly die and embossing folder set.

I made a card with the left over papers and a Kadoodle Pirate Dan stamp, coloured with Letraset Pro-marker pens. the greeting was printed using LDPirate font.
