Girl Guides

Challenge 7 for the Bramford Monthly Scrapbook Crop, virtual National Scrapbooking Weekend Challenge. This time we were asked to use a sketch.

For some reason I had three copies of this print, which was ideal for the sketch. The photo is my sister and me in 1973, in our front garden, just about to set out on a guide day out. We would have been 11 and 13 years old. This one is for my sister's album.

This is the sketch:

I found some old papers from October Afternoon, Farm Girl collection, which had the perfect colours for the photos. I also used a sheet of Natural Bazzill and some Doodlebug Designs letter stickers.

The tags were cut with a sizzix Thinlits die set and I used a selection of ribbon and twine to finish these off. They were attached to the page with some Stampin' Up brads.

Bright Lights Christmas Cards

For my crafty friends I made these cards for Christmas, I used some new stamps and a punch from Stampin' Up.

I used the Making Christmas Bright Stamp Set together with the Christmas Bulb Builder Punch. I punched a bulb to use as a template and blended ink over and around it using various colours of Distress Ink. Then I stamped the bulbs with Archival inks and punched out the shapes, adding them to the card with double-sided foam pads. The bulbs were linked together with some Baker's twine. I used miri card to punch the bulb ends and added them to each bulb.

Birthday Bookworm for Emily

Happy birthday Emily!

I made this card for Emily using a My Scrap Chick SVG file, and a combination of Graphic 45 - Rare Oddities papers and Bazzill cardstock. I used a Lili of the Valley stamp for the greeting and that is layered up using circle punches.

I loved the fact that the papers had a library print and the book titles and other images in this collection Emily's sort of thing!

Happy birthday Em.

Little Boxes!

Using up some scraps of patterned papers I thought I would try out the Sizzix milk carton die I purchased a long time ago and have not made use of yet.

These little boxes would make great place markers for the dinner table.

I also used Stampin' Up and Woodware circle punches
Papers are Sugar Plum by Doodlebug Design Inc.
The alphabet die is from Die-namics

Merry Christmas to the New Grandparents

My friends Hilary and Mark became Grandparents for the first time in September. I thought a good Christmas gift would be a framed scrapbook page of their newest family member - Elliot.

I used an Ikea frame and papers and stickers from Kaisercraft. I added lots of gems, pearls, stickles, liquid pearls and some lacy paper strips. The punches for the bunting are from Stampin' Up.

Do You Want To Build A Snowman?

A project for the Papermaze Make and Take sessions at the Christmas Crop earlier today. Several years ago my lovely friend Anita made these snowmen for all her friends at a crop and I was lucky enough to receive one. When thinking of something to do for a quick make and take session, I remembered these, worked out how they were put together and adapted them a little.

Here is my Snowman:

Hope you all enjoyed making these ladies, they make great tags, or table decorations.

I used:
2 x Circle dies
Tealight (approx. 1 ½”)
Circle punch 1”
heart punch (mini)
SU Word Window Punch
MS Branch punch
Ribbon 10”
Big Shot or Cuttlebug
Cardstock – White (4” x 6”),
Cardstock scraps in black, brown & red
Glittery red cardstock
Chalk Ink – pale blue

Snowman Poop!

"Heard you've been naughty
So here's the scoop -
All you get for Christmas is Snowman Poop!"

I found this idea of Pinterest by Shannon White and made these cards for my friends at today's crop at Cardinal Colours.

I added another idea found on Pinterest to add labels to the Tic Tac packs from a blog called 'Somewhat Simple' with free printables.

I used a variety of different embossing folders and the Sizzix, Bazzill cardstock, digital cardstock, ribbons, Distress Markers, corner & circle punch, the Cricut and of course Tic-Tacs.

Hope you all like these fun cards and enjoy the crop today.

Dublin 2014

We had a 12 hour crop at Cardinal Colours last weekend with a great set of crafty girls. I made up some kits to work on during the day and I used a Page Map as a source of inspiration for this one.

The photos were taken by Alan of Catherine and me, when we first arrived in Dublin last summer. We were exploring the city along by the River Liffey - such a lovely day.

I used:
Patterned papers, alphabet & element stickers - Basic Grey - What's Up collection,
Die - sizzix for the photo wheel
Letter stickers - American Craft - Thickers
Punches - Stampin' Up
Other - wooden heart element, metal word bars, glittery plastic glasses from an old key-ring, button, twine
Sewing machine and thread
Ink - Dristess ink
