Easter Egg Hunt

I'm back today on the Papermaze Blog, and the second pair of layouts using the March Papermaze Kit, both the layouts feature my daughter from back in 1995, using the pretty, spring papers and other items in the March kit. Here is the first of these two layouts.

Emily and the others on an Easter egg hunt I set up in my parent's garden for my children and their cousins.

A day with the Cricut for Easter Greetings

I dusted off the Cricut the other day as I decided I would make some Easter cards and needed quite a few. I had already downloaded a few SVG files from My Scrap Chick and thought these would make quick, cute cards. The other benefit was to make me use up lots of scrap cardstock and patterned papers.

Here are some of the creations:

I used a greeting stamp bu Lili of the Valley, and circular punches by Stampin' Up and Woodware. All the pieces were inked with either Chalk Inks or Distress Inks. I used a selection of card blanks from mys stash. All of these cards are 6" x 6".

I also cut many more images while I was busy cutting these, and I will show you these another day.

My Scrap Chick have recently improved all their SVG files for better cutting and fold lines with the Cricut, so if you tried before will limited success it is now worth trying again.

Easter meets Christmas and a Prize

The card challenge on Scrapology for the month of December was set by our own design team member Lou Collins. Lou challenged us all to recycle when making a card. Lo)u is offering a great prize for the winner of this challenge too (more details on Scrapology).

I used a piece of paper cut from the front cover of a gardening magazine, and some paper scraps from Basic Grey. The reindeer was cut on the Cricut with the Christmas Cartridge and some kraft card which was the packaging in some cards materials I have had for some time. 

I also used a Lili of the Valley greetings stamp and a rosette made from more of the patterned paper.
The snowflake border was cut with a Memory Box die.

The bell and ribbon are from a well known chocolate Easter bunny!

I added a few dabs of gold and crystal Stickles, and lots of brown and green chalk inks.

Easter Eggs

In googling the use of the Cricut for Easter cards - I found some useful ideas and tips on various sites. It helped me to realise which cartridges had relevant images and also how to make good use of some of the features on the Cricut itself.

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge for the basket and eggs, one I have had since I first had the Cricut and haven't used very much, The shaped mat is from the Storybook cartridge.

I made these cards using card blanks and papers from Craftwork Cards.

Punches from Woodware and Stampin' Up and a greetings stamp from Lili of the Valley.

Scraps of ribbon and cardstock were used to finish.

OK off to make a few more - Chicks next!

Spring Animals

This weeks Passion for promarkers challenge is to use a spring theme with an animal. I used this old PSX Easter quilt stamp. Sadly this is the last image I will stamp with it as is has gone all brittle and in cleaning the stamps, it started to break up. I'm surprised I managed to get such a good image from it.

The papers are by Making Memories and the lace punch is by Marther Stewart.
