ChYps Raffle at the next Cardinal Colours Crop Weekend

We are busy getting ready for the next weekend crop at Cardinal Colours, on 14th - 15th September.

I want to once again thank all those who attended any of  the previous three weekends for taking part in the raffles we have held for CHYPS (hospice-at-home care for children and young people). You have all been very generous in providing prizes and buying tickets. We have so far raised a total of £543!

  

 A very big thank you also to Jill for providing the main prizes each time. Last year we were lucky enough to have had a Big Shot Starter Kit won by Adele, then a Bind -It-All won by Mel. In spring this year Maureen won an Ultimate Pro Scoreboard.

This year Jill has kindly offered a Cuttlebug as the main prize.

We are busy gathering prizes together again for another go at the crop weekend in September. If you have anything you would like to donate - please bring it along with you, together with some money for raffle tickets.

Easter meets Christmas and a Prize

The card challenge on Scrapology for the month of December was set by our own design team member Lou Collins. Lou challenged us all to recycle when making a card. Lo)u is offering a great prize for the winner of this challenge too (more details on Scrapology).

I used a piece of paper cut from the front cover of a gardening magazine, and some paper scraps from Basic Grey. The reindeer was cut on the Cricut with the Christmas Cartridge and some kraft card which was the packaging in some cards materials I have had for some time. 

I also used a Lili of the Valley greetings stamp and a rosette made from more of the patterned paper.
The snowflake border was cut with a Memory Box die.

The bell and ribbon are from a well known chocolate Easter bunny!

I added a few dabs of gold and crystal Stickles, and lots of brown and green chalk inks.

Merry Christmas with Paint Chips and Prize

The card challenge on Scrapology for the month of December was set by our own design team member Lou Collins. Lou challenged us all to recycle when making a card. Lo)u is offering a great prize for the winner of this challenge too (more details on Scrapology)

I used some paint chips together with Martha Stewart punches and added a tiny dot of Ranger's Liquid Pearls to the centre of each blossom. greenery was glittered up with some Ranger Stickles. The card is made from Kraft cardstock and the embossed white card is by Doodlebug Design.

I also used a Lili of the Valley greetings stamp, Stampin' Up circle punch and a Woodware scalloped circle punch with a few scraps of Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses paper.
The ribbon was also recycled from the packaging on a pair of pyjamas.

It's My Lucky Day Today!

Linda and I went to 'Christmas in July' Stampin' Up Carolyn's house and had a very productive day. More about this when I have finished off all my cards etc. I was lucky enough to win the raffle and this Dasher stamp.

Then when I looked on the Kraftin' Kimmie Blog tonight to find out what the new challenge is for this week, I found I had won last weeks challenge with this card I made for my friend Hilary!

The prize is this stamp:

This elegant lady is Kimiko and her name means Noble Child! She was designed by artist Annie Rodrigue! The image stamp comes with coordinating sentiment stamp, 'Wishing You Good Fortune!' ... and she has!

Scrapology Prize for February

The prize for the February challenge has been announced over on the Scrapology blog.

Jill of Cardinal Colours is offering a Craftwork Cards Candi Storage box (Empty plastic storage box containing 13 mini-boxes ready for you to fill with Candi flavours) and six packs of Candi to go inside. Candi are just like brads, but legless! They are attached to your layout or card using 3D foam pads.

Candi has just been re-branded and you may know this as Card Candy.

Audrey and Margaret

I made this layout at the Cardinal Colours Crop earlier this month and only yesterday managed to finish it off. It is scraplifted from the brilliant work of Gabrielle Pocllaco. I used the new Basic Grey Curio papers.  The collection pack was my prize for one of the Basic Grey Challenges last month.  The butterflies are from K and Co. and were part of my Christmas present from my brother. The blossoms are winter flowers and the lacing is black 1/8" suede effect thong both from Cardinal Colours.

The photograph is one we have recently discovered of my grandmother (Margaret Ellen Banks nee Ephgrave) with her niece by marriage (Audrey Edwards nee Mansell) circa 1930.

Antoinette won me a prize!!

Well how about that? I entered the Basic Grey Sketch challenge at the last minute on Friday and won! with my Antoinette card. See my original post 'Winter Birthday'.
