Happy Birthday Emily!

I spent a great weekend at Easthampstead Park Conference Centre last weekend, with my lovely crafty friends. Great company, lots of laughter and good food.

I even achieved some scrapbooking and card making, here is one of the cards I made in preparation for Emily's 22nd birthday today.

1930's Dance Marathon

I wanted to scrap some of the photos from Catherine's play publicity photo shoot, and made this at our Scrapology crop last weekend.

I used the Kaiser Craft - Madame Boutique collection as the colours were prefect for her dress. I selected the 'Blouse' sheet for the background and the die cut circle sheet is called 'Lace'. I gutted a circle from the centre of the background paper before sticking the die cut sheet down. I inked the edges of the circle.

Relax and Recover

My sister had surgery to her hand last week, so I made her a card to wish her well.

As you can see I used more of the Cardinal Colours retreat kit left over from my Play-doh layout from Anita's class.

Happy 19th Birthday Andrew!

This character from Kraftin' Kimmie looks rather like my son and so I chose him for Andrew's 19th birthday card.

The card blank is from Craftwork Cards, folded to make an easel card. The papers are from a selection of Fancy Pants bits and pieces left over from layouts - they were ideal for making up the flags. The lettering for 'Andrew' are some old Basic Grey rub-ons and the 'Happy Birthdya' is a Making Memories rub on. The flags are Technique Tuesday stamps.

I added some tiny metallic self adhesive beads on the corners of some of the papers.

This will be Andrew's first birthday away from home and we hope he has a good time. We look forward to seeing him again in two weeks time when he comes home for the Easter break and will have another birthday for him then.  In the mean time Andrew have a great birthday and we wish you well with the exams. xx

Happy Birthday Anita

Happy birthday to my lovely friend Anita, we have been scrapping all weekend at Debden, so Anita had her card yesterday.

Hope you like he card made using a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp from Quixotic Paperie. She is from the Nifty Fifties, and although Anita is so much younger that that, she loves these stamps. I made a couple of vinyl (card) discs to go on the card too. The flat back pearl stars are also from Quixotic Paperie. There is also lots of glitter, which doesn't show very well in the photograph. The paper is from The Girls Paperie from Paper Maze, and the letters are Basic Grey. The card is a new shape from Craftwork Cards.

This is belated as it was the lovely Jill's (Cardinal Colours) birthday yesterday, but I'm not seeing her until later today.  So I didn't want to post her card on here until after she has had a chance to open it first!  I hope you had a good birthday Jill and that you enjoy our crop weekend starting today!

The card I made uses a card blank from Craftwork Cards and Phresh and Phunky papers from Basic Grey.  The image is a Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp, from the Quixotic Paperie. I thought this looked like Jill in her shop surrounded by 'card in all colours'!  She is coloured with my Promarkers.

It's Lianne's 21st Birthday today - Happy Birthday. We celebrated with her last weekend. I made Lianne a card while I was at Jill's Cardinal Colours crop.

I used a Craftwork Cards flower shaped card to make the easel card. The papers are from Sugar Rush by Basic Grey, and the stamp is Joanie, a new Kraftin' Kimmie from Quixotic Paperie.  Joanie is coloured with Promarkers.

Christmas in February!

One more Christmas card here that I forgot to share with you. I found her sitting in my draft posts when I was having tidy up. This is the card I made for Jill of Cardinal Colours. A Kraftin' Kimmy for a Crafty lady.

The papers are Basic Grey from several years ago, Coloured with my Promarkers. A Martha Stewart punch was used for the snowflake border. The stamp and the charm are from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. (Pop over and see the new Nifty 50's stamps she has from KK - I can't wait to play with these).

Happy Birthday to my 'Knight in Shining Armour'.

I do have to apologise to Alan for being out all day as I had to work till late. We plan to go out for a meal together tomorrow.

Alan's card was made with a stamp from the Medieval Kraftin' Kimmie's set. Available from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.He is coloured with my Promarkers and mounted on some very old Basic Grey papers.

I used a strip of embossed aluminum across the card where the patterned papers join.

2010 In Review

As suggested and inspired by Elaine of Quixotic Paperie, I have picked a favourite card and or layout from each month of 2010 to share with you once more. I agree with what Elaine said about celebrating what was achieved instead of thinking about what you had hoped to do, but did not manage. It certainly makes you realise what a lot was achieved in reality.

Mistletoe and Pear

Here is the card I made for my lovely friend Anita, who has been busy knitting her Chrsitmas gifts this year.

The card is from Craft Creations, and folded to make an easel card. The papers are all from the Basic Grey Mistletoe and Pear 12x12" pad. he Stamp is from Kraftin' Kimmie. I also used a Martha Stewart punch, and Card Candy from Craftwork Cards.

Happy Birthday Heather and Heather!

What an amazing coincidence, not only does our niece Heather have her birthday today, but a recently acquired friend and distant cousin Heather has her birthday on the same day!

I made the Going Dotty - Mona card to distant cousin Heather - we made contact through Genes Reunited and keep in touch via Facebook.

This is the card I made for niece Heather, who we should have spent the day with yesterday, but the weather put paid to that!

As Heather is an artistic person and loves painting I made her this card with my new 'Annie the Artist' Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. Annie is coloured with Promarkers.

The base card is made from Dotted Swiss Bazzill in Plum and the patterned papers are Peacock Lane from Bo Bunny, all purchased from Jill at Cardinal Colours. I printed a thumbnail photo in black and white of an old school photo of Heather. The greeting is stamped onto shapes cut with the Stampin' Up Circle and scalloped circle. I added Candy Dots from Craftwork Cards. 

Have a lovely birthday niece Heather and we will catch up soon. Good luck with the driving test next week too. x

Going Dotty!

The week 56 challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie is to make a card using dots. I have used one of the new Kimmie stamps 'Mona the Seamstress' prchased from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. I wanted to make a birthday card to a fellow stitcher. The papers are from The Girl's Paperie - Paper Girl collection from Paper Maze. and some Dotted Swiss Bazzill Cardstock from Cardinal Colours. I coloured Mona and her machine with my Promarkers.

It's a bit dark for taking pictures inside, but hope you get the picture.

I added glass to her frames with a touch of Glossy Accents!

I re-stamped the image onto patterned paper and simply cut out the fabric. Which I then stuck over the original image - more spots. Then I added a little floral lace, gems and some perfect pearls.
