Take Your Pick

Today was the Papermaze crop and this is my version of the crop kit designed by Vanessa.

I chose to scrap this photo of some pin cushions I knitted in the shape of cup cakes for my scrapbooking friends at a weekend retreat we held at Debden. When I looked up the date I was surprised to find it was as long ago as 2010!

The post where I shared these cup cakes and the details for making them can be found HERE.

Lovely to be back at the crop, thanks for a lovely day Vanessa and others.
Thanks for looking.

Tick-Toc Times Three!

Way back in the spring at our annual weekend retreat to Debden, Wendy and Liz gave everyone the makings of a chipboard clock, we had a variety of shapes and a selection of papers and embellishments. Here is the clock I made that weekend for my niece Lucy.

As Lucy is one of triplets, I was kindly given another two clocks to make up for Hannah and Oliver.

I used my Cricut to cut the characters and numbers for these time pieces.

This is Hannah's Clock ....

... and Oliver's clock.

I used lots of scraps of Bazzill and various papers from my stash. I used punches for the flowers. The names are all created with Doodlebug Designs Inc. letter stickers. Tons of Stickles and Liquid pearls were also employed!
As I had to travel to London on the train and then the tube to give these clocks to the children, so I made a box for each one. I was then able to tie them together for transportation. The were all ticking away loudly in out living room, so I thought I had better remove the batteries before boarding the trains!

Happy Christmas Oliver, Hannah and Lucy!

Buttons Everywhere!

This weekend I am at Debden House in the Epping Forest. Every year I go there with a group of lovely scrapbooking friends. This started off seven years ago with the Blossom Babes group on UKS and has grown and adapted along the way.

A small tradition has developed where we all make one another a small gift as a memento of the weekend.  This year I made these necklaces, one for each person in their favourite colours.

I made a shape with the Cricut and adapted it in the Cricut Craft Room Programme. Then with Adobe (and a little help from Emily we designed and printed this background and the names onto the card die cuts.

The necklaces were made by adapting the instructions from two tutorials I found on the Crafty Ribbons Blog. Here and Here. The first for the basic pattern of the buttons and the second because I wanted a proper clasp to secure the necklace rather than just tying the ribbon behind the neck. Otherwise the organza ribbon I used would quickly start to fray.

 Hope you like them girls.
Thanks for looking.

F is for Frost

A to Z photography Challenge 2011

I have just returned from a brilliant weekend of crafting at Debden in Essex. We have had a relaxing time with great company, food and lots of laughter.  On Saturday morning we woke to the very pretty white world of frost. Anita and I went for an early morning walk in the grounds and took photos.

Thanks for looking, Lynn

Scrapping with Friends

Here are the gift I received from my talented friends during our weekend at Debden.

Linda decorated leather pencil holders for everyone, see her blog for more details. Mine had this delightful Kraftin' Kimmie dancer stamped, coloured and decorated. Karen provided the pen in the pot, she had had them printed with the date and event details, such a lovely reminder of our time together.

This delightful note card box was decorated by Anita, the next three photos show different views.
Jill made these boxes with her Cricut and decorated them. They were filled with chocolates.

Jackie made these chocolate wraps using her Stampin' Up punches to make this sheep.

Sue made this great little fridge magnet, decorated with stamped and coloured images.

I also had some chocolates and an Easter egg, but they no longer exist!!!

Just look at all we achieved - so many cards and layouts.

Debden, Loughton

52 walks with my camera in 2010 - week 15

Last weekend I went to Debden House, Loughton for a scrapbooking weekend with my Blossom Babe friends. We had a lovely weekend, no cooking, cleaning or washing up. Lovely food served up three times a day, and time to scrap and make cards all weekend. The only complaint is that the time went too fast. On Saturday I did my 'walk with my camera' around the grounds of Debden House. We always stay there the same weekend every year and we were surprised to see how behind the plants and trees are this year, an estimated month behind due to the hard winter.

The sun dial in the garden behind the house.

A view of the garden.

The grounds and some trees in full blossom.

There are several of these stone benches around the grounds.

This photo is taken from the grounds looking back at the main house.

I wonder where this path leads to...
