Garths Croft

I designed the layout for the scrapbook kit today at the Papermaze Crop. This time I chose this photo from our holiday to Shetland earlier this year. We spent a day on Bressay, at Garths Croft learning all about the story of Shetland wool from sheep to knitting needle! Chris taught us all about the process as well as the history and his role in archaeology on the Islands. Here I am with one of the new born lambs.

In the kit you will find:
White Bazzill Cardstock 12” x 12”
Black Bazzill Cardstock 12” x 12”
Prima – Anna Marie collection – Anna Marie 4” x 4”
Prima – Anna Marie collection – Swiss Miss 4” x 4”
Kaisercraft – High Tea collection – Biscuit 6” x 2”
1 Mini Black Paper Doily fro Doodlebug Designs
1 Vaessan Creative Element Beaded Butterfly
1 AC Chalkboard Label
5 Prima Flowers - Daisies

To share at the crop:
Templates
Black Archival Ink Pad
Distress Oxide Inks - Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Black Soot
Woodware Stamp Set - Leaves

I used:
Tim Holtz Sizzix Tiny Type Upper and Lower Case Alphanumeric Die Sets

Start by gutting the black cardstock, save the centre piece to mount your photo and cut the letters for the title.

Trim the white cardstock to measure 11” x 11”, use the template to draw a light pencil circle in the centre of the cardstock. Using the black archival ink pad and your choice of leaf stamps, create a wreath covering the pencil line. Add a few extra leaves where the flowers will be positioned.

Splatter some of the Distress Oxide inks over the page allowing each colour to dry (you may wish to use your own colours, to complement your photo),

With both papers from the Anna Marie collection, cut each one into two 2” x 2” inch squares, then cut them all in half diagonally to create a total of eight triangles. Place one set on the corners of the black cardstock frame. Mount the white cardstock over the black frame. Then add the other four triangles over the corners of the white cardstock.

Mount the photo onto some of the black cardstock and place to the left of the wreath, tucking the black doily under the top right corner of the photo.

Create a journaling black from the wood effect side of the Biscuit paper, add your words, and attach to the left of the photo. Place the Chalkboard label to the bottom right of the photo.

Arrange a cluster of three flowers to the bottom right of the wreath. Add the other two flowers nearer the top of the wreath. Add the butterfly to one of the flowers.

Cut your title from the scraps of black cardstock and place in the centre of the wreath. Cut your date or a subtitle from scraps of the Biscuit paper and add this to the label.

thanks for looking.
