Post Box

Vicky and Mark asked me to arrange a box for their cards to be posted into at the wedding reception. I had a hunt around for a suitable box and then covered it in gift wrap, inside and out.
Then with the Cricut and Bazzill cardstock (the same as I used for the invitations, album / card and horseshoe). The Storybook cartridge was used for the initials and the Sweetheart cartridge for the images. I aso used a Martha Stewart lacy punch (thanks Linda).

Something Old - Something New

Vicki and Mark were thinking about something old, something new etc. for their wedding day and had been looking back at the old photos of all the family weddings, confirmations and christenings that have taken place at St. James Church, Elmers End, Beckenham. They spotted this lucky horseshoe my mother was given on her wedding day in 1957.

Mum still had it tucked away in the back of the wedding photo album and Vicki asked if she could have it for her wedding day. When we looked closer it needed some attention where the staples and wires had been and the flowers and ribbons were rather crumpled and in need of replacement. I decided to personalise it for their colour scheme of burgundy and ivory.

So this is what I came up with.

Blossoms and ribbons - Hobbycraft
Cardsock - Bazzill
chalk inks
Sweetheart cartridge - Cricut

Congratulations Mark and Vicki

Today is the wedding of my nephew Mark to Vicki. I made them a card / album, based on the technique I learnt from Carolyn at the Stampin' Up Christmas in July Retreat, see my post here.  I made this to go with the invitations I made a few months ago for them.

Christmas Album

This album was another make from Carolyn's Christmas in July Stampin' Up retreat last weekend. The Album itself is just two pieces of 12"x12" Real Red cardstock - cut, scored glued and folded to make this delightful album / card. We used more cardstock in Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla and Old Olive to decorate the panels and make mounts for photographs to be added later. The patterned papers and stickers are all from the 'Christmas Jingle' collection. The album is held closed with this lovely wide polka dot grosgrain ribbon. In addition we used stamps from the 'Delightful Decorations' and 'Tree Trimmings' sets, gold brads, gold elastic cord and a snowflake sizzlet die.

Untie the ribbon and open out both sides of the cover and this is what you see. The cream panels are where the photographs will go later.

All stitched Up and Happy Birthday Frances

I made and sent this card to my lovely friend Frances at the beginning of the month. I couldn't show you as it was my DT work for this month's Scrapology card challenge. SJ of Little Musings set the challenge and it is 'Anything but Square' and as a DT we were asked to use her digital images.

I printed out the tailor's dummy, frm the 'Sew Vintage' collection twice in colour on glossy photo paper, then cut and layered it with 3D foam pads. The shaped card and button borders were made using the 'Wild Card' cartridge for the Cricut. I added real buttons, decorative pins and DMC embroidery cotton. The greeting is a rub-on from Making Memories. The patterned papers are Material Girl from Cosmo Cricket.

Head on over to Scrapology for the challenge which was launched today.
The prize will be announced in a few days time.

Here is a peek at the images on offer in the Sew Vintage collection.

Bauble Cards

At the Stampin' Up Christmas in July workshop / retreat at Carolyn's on Saturday we made three different cards using Bauble stamps.

3 Bauble Card, the middle image is stamped and punched then layered with 3D sticky fixer pads.

3D Bauble Card made by stamping, punching and folding three images and sticking them together to give the image dimension.

Layered bauble card, made using a masking technique.

The envelopes for these cards were stamped with the same bauble stamp.

The bauble stamps are from two different SU sets, Contempo Christmas which we were given in our kit, and Tree trimmings which was available to use.
Greetings stamps from Contempo Christmas and Oval All.
The patterned papers were from a collection called 'Jolly Holidays'.
The cardstock and ink colours are cherry cobbler, old olive and very vanilla.
The punches are scallop trim border, scallop oval extra large, oval large and ornament Extra Large.
The ribbon is Organza 5/8", whisper white

More tomorrow.
