For our December crop at Cardinal Colours, I made all my friends an Owl Hot Pad. Using a pattern by Susie C. Shore Designs and sold by Quilter's Haven, in Wickham Market.
The design uses a fat quarter of cotton fabric for the body, and then smaller scraps for the wings, beak and eyes. You need 1/8 yard of paper backed fusible webbing e.g. Bondaweb, 1/4 yard Insul-bright Wadding and 1/4 yard Warm and Natural Batting. The project also needs threads and ribbons.
The pattern come with a choice of three different eyes, twinkle, winky and blinky, so you can choose, I made some of each and mixed them on the same owl too.
Here are all the owls:
Blog Candy
I had fun making these owls for my friends, so I have purchased another pattern to offer as blog candy. The lucky winner will also receive enough Bondaweb, Insul-bright Wadding and Warm and Natural Batting to complete one owl - just add own choice of fabric and ribbon.

This prize would make a great Christmas gift - either made up into an oven pad or as a kit.
A random draw will take place on 15th December.
Good Luck!
