Pumpkin Spice

Week five of the FTLOPP (for the love of pretty paper) Be Colourful challenge, is to scrap with the colour 'Terrific Tangerine'. I was already planning to scrap these photos of my niece Jessica at halloween this year.

I had spotted and purchased a sheet of paper from Prima's Pumpkin and Spice collection when I visited Papermaze last month - I chose this sheet called Get Cozy as it matched the black and white check in Jess' shirt with the pumpkin theme of the scene. It also has a lovely copper coloured foiled highlights.

I made a checkered frame just 2cm deep so I could reserve as many of the images as possible from the other side of the paper. I fussy cut the sunflower, scarf, wellies, moth, the word 'fall' and the 'let there be pumpkin spice' chalk board.

I cut a piece of Bazzill in a spice colour (not sure what this one is called) to 11" x 11" and then gutted it to make a 1" frame.

From my stash I selected a sheet of Simple Stories - Sn@p Basics collection Aspen/white notebook.  This was cut to 10.75" x 10.75" and the edges were distressed and inked with Black Soot Distress Ink. (All my edges were edged with Black Soot Distress Ink). I splattered Distress Paint over this paper, I used Carved Pumpkin, Picket Fence, Black Soot and Antiqued Bronze.

Then the three pieces were layered centrally over each other. My photos were mounted on the spice Bazzill then onto some black Bazzill.

I used a cut file from Pear Tree Cut Files for the title. and backed the open spaces with scraps from the Bazzill and the Prima paper, using the foiled areas where possible. I added a little shading to the pumpkin with watered down Black Soot Distress Ink.

Everything was arranged and stuck to the page, some pieces were raised with 3D foam pads.
Then I embellished with some bat stickers, quote stickers, paper leaves, raffia, and Baker's Twine.

Finally I wrote the date onto some scraps and added this under the photos.

Thanks for looking
Lynn x
