The Seven Sisters

I had plenty of paper, Bazzill and some embellishments left over from the Papermaze Kit for January, after making five layouts for the Design Team. This time I have a used a sketch for inspiration.

From my journalling : “My mum, my daughter and I have all been enjoying the Lucinda Riley – Seven Sisters stories. The series follows the sisters, and begins as their adoptive father, who  they call Pa Salt, dies. They are each given a clue as to their past. Each book is the story of one of the sisters as they trace their origins all over the world.

The sisters are each named for one of the stars of the Pleiades (‘The Seven Sisters’) constellation. So far we know about six of the girls, but there is mystery surrounding a seventh sister, and her story is to be published later this year and is called ‘The Missing Sister'.
We are waiting impatiently!!”

From the kit I used:
American Crafts - Vicki Boutin Stroyteller collection - Stardust
Echo Park - Winter Magic collection - 4 x 4 Journalling Card
Simple Stories Sn@p alpha stickers
Tango tag
Bazzill White and Admiral

From my stash I used:
A Paige Evans cut file and silver card
mini letter stickers
Large
eyelet
Baker's Twine
Silver thread
Star sequins
Sizzix Thinlits Delicate Alphabet Die set
Silver glitter foam

For this layout I used a sketch by Jana Eubank, although I adapted it so much it's no longer much like the sketch!!

That's the last of my layouts from the January kit, hope you like them - six layouts has to be good value for money!

Just Me and the Road

I'm back again with another layout for the Peartree Cutfiles Online Crop. This was for challenge 11 set by the lovely Claire Louise - which is a colour challenge.

This is a photo of my daughter in December last year running, one of her theripies helping her cope with the last year of  the pandemic. She finds herelf in a stressful job she is not trained for as she is unable to follow her normal adventures in her role as a stage manager.

She knows she is lucky to have found temporary employment, but it is not a happy job and leaves her very stressed every day. She wrote a very moving piece about how she copes and what she is grateful for, which I have printed out and added to the back of the layout.

These are the colours Claire gave us to work with:

Here is the details of the trainers

I used:
Bazzill cardstock in colours to match Claire's spectrum
Bo Bunny - Broadwalk Collection - Sandcastles paper
Sand Acrylic paint for the letters
Gold eyelets
Martha Stewart - punch around the page punche set - Cherish
Tea Dye Distress Ink
Basic Grey Alphabet stickers

This is the Peartree Cutfile I used:

Life is Better with a Cat

Challenge 2 today from the Peartree Cutfile's January Online Crop. This one is set by Emma Kate, and the idea was to pick a line from the 9 square Tic, Tac, Toe chart. I chose Black background, Peartree Cutflie and Patterned paper.

My photo is one of our lovely Liquorice, she used to love to sit on my knitting basket so I couldn't get the wool!

I chose the 'Life is Better with a Cat' cutfile:

For the black background I used some black wood effect paper from a Bo Bunny - Prairie Chic collection. I trimmed this down and added a mat oof deep red Bazzill. I did the same with a deep border of paper from the Basic Grey Oliver collection. The cut file was cut twice from red and black patterned paper from the same collection. The journalling was added to a scrap of patterned paper.

I added stars and a circular element sticker from the Oliver collection. the date is made from Basic Grey number stickers.
I used some Nuvo drops to add sparkle to the larger letters.
All the edges were inked with Black Soot Distress Ink.

This is Emma's original layout:
