At Blogger Heads!!

My daughter Catherine is in the process of starting her own blog now that she has left home and is 'Standing on her own two feet'.  She asked me to give her a hand in making a header for her blog, so this afternoon we played with card and Cricut and came up with this:

We used Urban Lily papers from Crafty Pastimes and the Forever Young and the Don Juan Cartridge for the Cricut from Cardinal Colours.

She is pleased with this and it is now applied to her blog.

Peachy Poppet

I started work on this layout about two months ago, and last night got around to completing it. The photo is of one of the triplets, Hannah. Taken in the garden of the cottage at St. Mawes back in the Summer. Such a lovely, cheeky face she has. The colours of her dress were a perfect match for these Scenic Route (unfortunately no longer trading) papers I have had for some time now, the came from Linz at Crafty Pastimes (Linz still has some SR papers in stock for just 30p a sheet).

I have been playing with the idea of using diamonds as a background pattern since seeing a layout, probably by the talented Gabrielle, but I can't exactly remember where or when! I cut these diamonds in various sizes using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge on the Cricut. They were inked and layered, then I set to work with needle, thread and buttons. The title was cut on the Cricut and stitched in place. I made the spiral flowers following a demo from my lovely friend Anita. he leaves are punched and inked. Some perfect pearls was used to add some swirls and more dimension.

Close up of the diamonds....

.... and the flowers.

Thanks for looking. Tomorrow I will post a layout of Hannah's sister, Lucy.

Alicia

Using two images is the theme for this weeks Passion for Promarkers challenge. I used this Kraftin' Kimmie stamp called Alicia. My second stamp is a parrot from the same set, which I cut out and perched onto the skull, using 3D foam pads. The Skull and cross bones charm has been in my stash for years and came from Crafty Pastimes. The papers are My Mind's Eye and the feathers were donated by George the parrot who lives next door! The stamps are from Quixotic Paperie.

Oliver

This is a layout I did at Jill's crop, with a photo of baby Oliver taken back in March when he was two months old.

It is a scrap lift from this one by the talented Gabrielle Pocllaco.
For my version I used Bazzill Basics for the backing as well as the photo mat. Some old papers - Urban Lily's Everyday Lily collection, linen stripe and linen dot, from Crafty Pastimes. I also used some Basic Grey Urban Prairie.

I have used a selection of rubons, crystals brads and stickers. The letters for the title are chipboard painted with acrylic paint and decorated with Perfect Pearls. I used several different punches too.
