Treble Act

The 'Warm Up' for the 'For The Love of Pretty Paper' July Challenges, is a chance to scrap yourself. As with a lot of my layouts, I scrap them two or three times so I can place one in each of the children's albums. It was new to actually scraplift one of my layouts rather than to scrap them all differently (my original is at the end of the post and HERE).

So this layout is a photo of my trio in the popular rugby shirts I got them from Kids Stuff. I called it 'Treble Act', as a play on a favourite book by Jacqueline Wilson called 'Double Act' as it was also about multiples.

I used:
White Bazzill cardstock
Cocoa Vanilla Studio -Sunkissed - Summer Lights
Distress Oxide Inks
Echo Park Star Stencil
Happy Life & Celebrate foam Letter Thickers
Star Gems
SVG cut file

Here is my original:

The Good Life

Here is my first layout using the pretty Papermaze Kit for the month of July. Lovely pastel shades of lemon, lilac, aqua, blue and pink, with much bolder purple. Together with the extra Bazzill pack, the kit is available in the shop from today.

This photo of me was captured recently in the garden by my husband - he says it's me in my element! We certainly have plenty of garden here in our Suffolk home to keep me busy!

The layout was inspired by the cut file which I cut once as it is presented, then flipped horizontally for a second cut to give me a mirror image. The cut file is from Handipaper and the inspiration from a layout by Nathalie DeSousa.

For full details on how the layout was made, please see the Papermaze Blog - Scrap, Paper Scissors.

From the kit I used:Kaisercraft - Amethyst collection - Flutter & Gem
Cheesecloth
Doodlebug jewels
Avalanche and Purple Palisades Bazzill

From my stash I used:

Dylusions Ink Spray in Black Marble and White Linen
Distress Oxide Ink in Wilted Violet and Shaded Lilac
Martha Stewart Border PunchNuvo Glitter DropsNuvo Crystal Drops
Dew Drops
Pinkfresh Studio Joyful Day Puffy Alpha Stickers

Thanks for looking, back tomorrow with my second layout using this kit.

Wedding Invitations and Table Settings

I made some invitations and other items at the request of my nephew Mark, and his fiancée Kerry-Ann. I can't believe I have not already shared these with you all as they were finished a while ago and the wedding was in September.

Invitations ready for the happy couple

The invitations were made with an SVG file I downloaded from Etsy. The Bazzill Bling cardstock Kerry chose was a deep purple with a bit of a sparkle. The design included a pocket allowing us to include removable information including RSVP, gift and accommodation cards. The invitation was tied up with white organza ribbon.

The couple are keen on horse racing and so the place setting cards were made in the shape of a running horse with each name written onto it. I found a horse image and made my own place card on the Cricut Design Space then used the print and cut feature to create the cards.

Kerry-Ann and Mark also wanted some tags to thank their guests, these were made in the same way. I added some deep purple organza ribbon bows and a length of Baker's Twine so the tags could be tied to the napkins.

Each table was named after a famous racehorse, so I made A5 labels for each table, with the name of the racehorse on one side and photos of the bride and groom at various ages on the other.

I typed and printed the menus onto vellum.

Kerry and Mark purchased a betting slip for each guest for a race taking place on the day, they were tucked into these little folders titled 'Eat, drink and be lucky'.

Kerry purchased a large mirror for her table plan.

We all had a lovely day, congratulations to Mark and Kerry.
Thanks for looking.
