Sun Kissed

The photo in this layout is my daughter Catherine and her boyfriend George on holiday in turkey back in August this year. It was perfect colour wise to go with last month's Papermaze Crop Kit.

I was actually in the right place at the right time to take in a workshop by Louise Collins at Papermaze on Wednesday morning! So along with a lovely group of ladies I created my page - well more of a picture for the wall as it's never going to fit into an album!

 My photo was taken in Rendlesham Forest in November 2011

We were given some corrugated card in the form of a pizza box to cut into a circle, and strip back to show the 'ribs'.

The twigs, fir cones and acorns had been gathered by Lou in advance of the class.

There were brads (Prima Sunrise-sunset Mechanicals Vintage Trinkets), white Bazzill card stock, Kaisercraft flat backed pearls in red, two Studio Calico clock faces and a sheet of Heidi Swapp Vintage Chic Textbook paper.

Also a Kars wooden ornament house which I swapped for a toadstall from my stash when I got home.

We were able to use some leaf punches, a Cheery Lynn die - Window A, distressing ink, cheesecloth, Stampendous Frantage Embossing Enamel and three different sprays, varying makes - to add colour to the punched leaves in yellow orange and brown. We also used a hot glue gun and a heat gun.

 
The leaves were punched from Bazzill and coloured with spray inks, distresses and inked again.

Playtime Butterflies

Here is one of the layouts I made at our retreat in Debden last weekend.

The triplets at play in the park. This layout was designed using the Cricut Craft Room programme. I picked the butterfly shadow from the Designer's Calendar cartridge. I repeated the image across the page then copied the rows so they were exactly where I wanted them. Then cut them from White Bazzill. This was trimmed down to leave a narrow border of the green Bazzill underneath. I used lots of pretty scraps of Doodlebug Designs Inc. papers and positioned them on the lime card stock so each one would show through a butterfly aperture.

The white was layered up with a lot of 3D foam tape. Some of the cut outs butterflies were inked and curved and added to the layout, just sticking them down by the bodies. Each one has two layers, and flower stamen to make antenna. I made a trail of flat backed pink gems between the butterflies. The ribbon was trailed loosely across the bottom of the page just sticking it down in a few places. and pegged to the photo.

The title was an old Making Memories rub-on which I have had for years.

This was inspired by a beautiful Studio Calico layout I saw on by Wilna Furstenburg.
