Happy Halloween!!!

Wishing all my followers and readers a very Happy Halloween with this purple card. The card was made for the Kraftin' Kimmie Primarily-Purple Challenge this week. The stamp I chose is called 'Poison' (She came from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie). The photo doesn't do the colours of this colouring justice, but she was coloured with my promarkers. Other materials include scraps of card, ribbon and gems from my stash.

Have a fun day everyone!!!

Pop-up Purse Album

This is another class from the Cardinal Colours Retreat which I was able to take the kit away to make up at home following the instructions from the DVD included in the kit.
The Pop Up Purse Album was designed by Karen Burniston.

The kit content includes so much lovely stash. Products from Creative Imaginations IOD line. Including double sided 12x12" papers, flower brads, epoxy stickers, cardstock die cut stickers, brads (fabric, epoxy, gems and pearls). Then there is the 6x6" chipboard pieces, magnets, templates, wire, ribbon and the DVD.

I decided to use a collection of photos from a lovely day spent with friends who lived in Tunbridge Wells at the time. On the day I have scrapped we all wet to Groombridge.
This was back in about 1984.

This shows the front of the album.

Here are the first two pages.

The next double page spread.

Another double page.

The last double page including this delightful pop up handbag.

Close up of the pop up handbag.

The back of the bag album showing the wired ribbon handle.

Detail of how the magnet closure is hidden under this epoxy ladybird sticker.

This was an incredible project to work on, the instructions and templates made it very easy to follow, and it all came together very well.
Jill still has a few kits in stock and the price is fantastically good value considering all the stash you get. I have plenty left over for more scrapbook and cardmaking projects.
If you want to purchase a kit take a look HERE.

I used these photos and many other of these friends (Frances, Steve, Helen and Amy), from the 1980's onwards to create one of the first albums I ever made when I started scrapbooking back in 2003. I think I will put together a slide show as it is amazing to look back and see how your scrapbooking changes over the years.

In a Nutshell

While in Bury the other week we found this tiny pub, The Nutshell and decided to go back there at lunch time to see what it was like inside and to have a drink!

We weren't disappointed. It really is very, extremely small. Amazingly the local radio station once got 102 people (and a dog) inside as a stunt but I must say I have no idea how they did it!

The ceiling is covered with bank notes from visitors from around the world.

as well as other keepsakes!

This chap has been seen in my blog posts before and always with a pint of beer in hand!

It did get very cosy with just a few people inside.

Ocean Motion

First of all, I want to wish the lovely, talented Karen a very happy birthday today.
Karen makes some great cards and wonderful scrapbook pages, take a look at her blog. She is also a member of the design team for Scrapology.

I made Karen a mermaid birthday card, which I hope has arrived with her by now.

I used scrapbook pages from Imaginise (Splash Dance - Bathing Beauties and Ocean Motion). I also used white card for stamping the image onto and white and aqua Bazzill and some silver Miri card. The image is from Kraftin' Kimmie's Mermaid set and this one is called 'Nerissa' and is available from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and added a touch of Stickles Glitter Glue for sparkle and Perfect Pearls all from Cardinal Colours.
The tiny coloured shells are actually beads from a necklace one of the children had when they were younger.

I raided the mermaid on 3-D foam pads. The greeting is a Basic Grey Rub-on.

The charms and ribbons were from my stash.

Happy birthday and have a wonderful day Karen. x

Surprises!

I had two lovely surprises arrive yesterday.  I had been away since Thursday evening as I had been to visit a hospice in Norfolk with a colleague from work. The lovely Glynis has been great company and navigator for the long drives, to Suffolk on Thursday night, to Norfolk and back to Suffolk on Friday and the return journey to Kent on Saturday. When I arrived home after dropping Glynis off at her house and doing some shopping I found these lovely flowers waiting for me, from Glynis (who also happens to be a scrapbooker).

Thank you Glynis and hope you have a good holiday.

In the post was this lovely note card from fellow scrapbooker and DT member for Scrapology, Deirdre.

Thank you Deirdre.

Happy Birthday Mum!

Happy birthday to my dear Mum. I made this card for her using this stamp from Stamping Bella.

I stamped her with Memento ink pad onto white digital card from Craftwork Cards. Then she was coloured in with Promarkers from Cardinal Colours they now have all colours in stock.
I punched her out using a large scalloped circle punch.
The papers are more of my precious stock of Scenic Route. I cut the scalloped mat (brown patterned paper) on the Cricut with the Storybook Cartridge. I cut the shaped card using the Wild Card Cartridge.
(pink patterned paper).  I added a lace trim to the circle, and lots of Ranger Stickles and Perfect Pearls in pink ad white dots. The whole circle is raised up on 3D foam pads. Then I added decorative heart pins to complement the hair decorations.
The letter stickers were left over from my Echo Park - Life is Good layout.

The card open to show the shape cut by the Cricut.
