Bazzill Cardstock
Buttons
Various letters from my stash
Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page

The photo is young Jamie, my nephew, when he visited us on Christmas Eve 2005.

Make and Take with Lesley - Gift Token Card

I went to the Papermaze Christmas Crop on Saturday and we all had a great time. There was a Christmas Challenge Kit and two Make & Take sessions. The first make and take was by Lesley and we all made a gift Token card.

Here is mine:

We used gilding flakes on the paper doily, something I have been meaning to try for a long time.
The papers I chose from the wide selection available were from My Mind's Eye. We used a brad and a glass dew drop for the centre of the blossom.
I added some gold and cream twine to match my papers.

Thanks for the class Vanessa and Lesley, hope you have a good Christmas

52 Card Challenge - Week 49

Welcome to the first prompt of December for Kool Kitty's Musings challenge! As it's likely to be a crazy month for us crafty folks, to make life easier Natty thought it would be good to focus on the things that are...

On your to-do list!

If there are special card projects that you need to get done and dusted, now's your chance!
Mine was to create a card for my daughter who passed her driving test on Friday. A special card to acknowledge this achievement was in order.

I had wanted to try using the writing facility on the new Cricut Explore with white on black like a chalk board. I had purchased the Chalk Board Font cartridge, however the pens sold for this machine do not include a white and many other pend don't fit the holder on the Cricut. I did some 'Googling' and discovered that American Crafts make a white pen in their Galaxy range which fits perfectly. I found one of these pens at Papermaze, and so was ready to try this out when Catherine passed her test.

In addition to the pen and the Cricut I used cardstock from Bazzill in white, black and red.

Craftilicious Carry All - Mark IV

I made Linda a Craftilicious Carry All bag for her birthday last month. She had requested one for her sewing things.

My first attempt is here - This is the bag I use for my stitching items. Then I made one for Catherine in pink and black as requested for taking on tour as Deputy Stage Manager. This was closely followed by a woodland animal one for Emily's sewing things.

Here is Linda's Craftilicious Carry All:

To go with the bag I made Linda another of my scrap bags, she already has two but it's useful to keep one with the sewing machine for pins and threads as you sew.

Then I found a pattern for pattern cutting weights so made these from some scraps lined them with calico and filled them with sand.

Linda couldn't be at out Cardinal Colours Christmas crop this year where my gift to all my scrappy friends was a hand made gift bag filled with Christmas Chocolates, however she will receive her bag when I next see her. I made it in the same fabrics as the other items as I thought it might be useful to hold ribbons or something within the bigger bag.

Happy Birthday and Christmas Linda.

Fabric8 Small Gift Bags

I picked up a small kit at Fabric8 in Felixstowe for making one of these small gift bags - just like the paper ones you buy in card shops. I thought they would make good gifts for my crafty friends at our Cardinal Colours Christmas Crop this year. I simply filled them with delicious chocolate gifts and crackers.

Here are the individual bags I made:

Here are a set of three bags made of the five year old triplets and filled with small toys and sweets.

I enjoyed making these as the pattern and instructions work so well.

Merry Christmas Girls

52 Card Challenge 2014 - Week 45

The inspiration for this week's card is all things botanical.   Please see Kool Kitty Musings Blog for details of the challenge.

Here is my card:

This card was the first time I tried Brushos on water colour paper, thank you to Linda for sharing her inks. The stamps are from Paper Artsy, Joffy collection which I have tried before. I also used a fine black sharpie and a white gel pen to add detail. It was interesting to see what patterns developed when the powder inks met the water on the paper!

The Kiff Family

Here is a heritage layout I started making years ago while at a retreat. I had put it away and forgotten about it until I was sorting through some Basic Grey papers for another project. I think it started off being inspired by one of BG's sample layouts at the time.

The patterned papers including the doily and element stickers are from Basic Grey's beautiful Marjolaine collection. The lettering shows up better IRL, difficult to photograph in this poor light.

I added lots of Stickles, Liquid Pearls, gems and pearls. The lettering is created with American Craft Felt and chipboard stickers and Simple Stories tiny letters.

The Kiff family are related to me through my maternal Grandfather. Florence (Florrie) Dorothy Holder is my great aunt (1894 - 1964) married to Charles (Charlie) Kiff (1890 - ) and their daughter Vera Enid Kiff (1922). They all emigrated to Vancouver in Canada in 1926.
