Emily's Graduation Layout

Vanessa designed the lovely page for the Papermaze Crop last weekend, and here is my version of events:

I have been meaning to scrap some photos from both the girl's graduations ceremonies last summer and the colours in this kit were perfect for this particular picture of Emily standing in front to the Swimming pool at Nottingham University just before her ceremony.

The papers in the kit are Prima Delight - Destinations, Amy Tangerine Yes Please - Consistent & Understand together with three different colours of Bazzill cardstock (Chantilly, Malachite & Truffle). Because of the black in the gown I changed my Truffle cardstock for black. There was also twine in the kit.

We had the use of Evergreen Bough Distress Ink, and Memento Summer Sky Ink with a script stamp and some circular masks made freehand by Vanessa. There was also a selection on Martha Stewart border and deep border punches, some dies and other punches, Liquid pearls and a Tim Holtz alphabet Sizzlets die.

 Here is Vanessa's original layout:

52 Christmas Crackers 2014 - Week 1

An addition to the 52 Card Challenge is to make a Christmas card each week as well or instead of the main challenge.

For details of this challenge please see Kool Kitty Musings Blog

It does seem strange to be making a Christmas card in January!
As this week's Challenge was to use new stash, I used my Cricut Cartridge - Winter Frolic to make this card:

Most of the rest is not new, The papers are all from Bo Bunny's Mistletoe Collection. The Cardstock is all by Bazzill and I have dry embossed the white card. The star and the trees are all from the new Cricut cart. I have added sparkle in the form of stickles, gems and nail heads. The star and the mat for the embossed card are both cut from silver Miri card. All the paper and card is inked with Distress Inks. I added some ribbon from my stash.

So here is my first card ready for Christmas 2014!
Thanks for looking.

52 Card Challenge 2014 - Week 1

Inspired by some of the cards made by others, I decided to make a start and join in with the 52 Card Challenge for 2014. For details of this challenge please see Kool Kitty Musings Blog

The challenge for week 1 was to use some of the new stash.

I have been trying to use up some old stash so this was quite a challenge, but I did have some new (to me) Bo Bunny Noteworthy die cut journal pages and accents for the Country Garden Collection, so I used three butterflies from this set together with some left over papers from the same collection. I trimmed off the white outlines from each butterfly before inking the edges.
I used some new Dusty Attic chicken wire, laser cut chipboard, a new Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs, new glossy accents and Golden Rod Stickles. The name was cut with the old faithful 'Storybook' Cricut Cartridge. The greeting is a new stamp from Lili of the Valley. The letters are glossed and the butterflies are highlighted with Stickles, gems, pearls and stamen for antenna.

Thanks for looking and I will be back soon with my week 1 Christmas cracker.

Craftilicious Carry All

I treated myself to a magazine by the title of 'Bag, Beads and Brooches' by Traplet Publications a few months ago. It has several very good articles for making bags and includes patterns and measurements. I wanted something to carry my current sewing or knitting project around, keeping all I needed to complete the job in one place.

Here are a few pictures of my finished bag:

Several of the fabrics are from Doodlebug Design Inc. Most materials are from my stash and come from various suppliers including Fabric8, Welling Sewing Centre, Cardinal Colours and Quilter's Haven.
And the project I have in the bag currently is another bag, this one is in pink and black and has been requested by my daughter Catherine.
