Happy Ruby Wedding

Today is my sister and brother-in-law (Sylvia and Bob's) 40th Wedding Anniversary. So I made them a card!

I used several dies from Crafter's Companion to make this bifold card. The base of the card is white Bazzill, then I used red metallic card. I embellished with some red gems.

Happy Anniversary Sylvie and Bob. xxx

Happy Pearl Wedding Anniversary Lisa and Paul

My lovely friend Liz gave me a die (Die'sire Decadence) for my birthday and this is the first card I have created with it. I used some pearly card from my stash to cut with the die. I cut the centre twice and off set the first one, adding the second over the top in the original position.

I added the lettering with the QuicKutz - Mini Moxi Unicase Alphabet Dies
The die cuts were arreanged on a 6" x 6" card cut from cream Bazzill Basics Cardstock
Tiny flat-backed self adhesive pearls were added to the front of the card.
The layers are raised up on 3 dimensional sticky foam pads.

Happy Anniversary Lisa and Paul!

Happy Anniversary To Us!

This month over on the Scrapology Blog the card challenge set by Alison is to make a card using up some of your old stash. These papers, stickers and tag are all from Basic Grey's 'Urban Couture' collection.  I used this line a lot over the years, and it's still one I love - especially some of there green / brown swirly patterned papers. These cute little birds are from the 'Create a Critter' Cricut cartridge.

This was made for our 29th wedding anniversary on 5th May, but had to keep it off the blog until today's challenge was posted.

Thanks for looking and please pop over to Scrapology for more details of the challenge.

Happy 65th Wedding Anniversary

I made a 65th Wedding Anniversary card for my Auntie Phyllis and Uncle Rob in New Zealand from their family in England. When I looked up what the symbol is for this grand celebration I found out that this anniversary does not have any traditional or modern associated materials. The most likely reason for this is to do with Queen Victoria. Prior to Queen Victoria celebrating her 60th jubilee only the 75th Wedding Anniversary had a material associated against it above 60 years . With the 60th Anniversary being celebrated a material was given to the 60th and also the 70th, missing out the 65th Anniversary.

I used Craftwork Cards products (Anglomania papers, card candy and a 8x8" scalloped card.)

I used one of CWC oval greetings and mounted it on card and papers cut with my Stampin' Up oval punches, mounted this on 3D foam pads and added a pair of heart pins from my stash.

The names and '65' were cut using the Don Juan Cartridge for the Cricut

Below are two photos from Phyl and Rob’s wedding held on 12th January 1946 - After the war and before they went to live in New Zealand. Phyl plaited Rob’s silk parachute cord to wear around her waist. Rob flew spitfires during WWII.

Left to right: Mary (my mother, Phyl’s half sister and bridesmaid), the best man, Rob and Phyl (groom and bride), Winifred and Harry (who looked after Phyl after her mother died when she was a small baby, until my grandfather, Ernest re-married) Winifred and Ernest (Phyl’s step mother and her father, Mary’s parents and my grandparents).

Mum has just added "I didnt know I was going to be bridesmaid until I got to the house and the lady next door rushed in and said she had this outfit and would I like to be bridesmaid. No time for nerves! as you can see the bonnet is plonked down on my head with no regard for my hair ribbon".
