Pumpkin Patch

I don't often make double layouts, but I had a few photos of Scarlett at Tulley's Farm Picking a pumpkin and some lovely papers from the Pink Paislee - Paige Evans - Truly Grateful collection. The papers complimented the autumn colours as well as Scarlett's pink jacket.

For the first page I used some Lace Bazzill as a base, and inked the edges with Fossilized Amber Distress Ink. I cut a 9" x 9" square from paper #23, I rounded the corners, inked it with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and mounted it onto a piece of Mardi Gras Bazzill. I Cut a strip of the same paper #23, 3" x 12", and mounted this onto more of the Mardi Gras Bazzill, rounding the corners and inking the edges, I placed it across the middle of the layout. I added the 9" square over the top of this.

With another 3" x 4.5" piece of #23 paper, I punched down one side with a Binding Edge punch from EK Success. I used the corner punch on the opposite two sides, Inked the edges and mounted onto more Mardi Gras Bazzill. This was added to the top right of the 9" square. I used a Martha Stewart border punch to make some 'lace' with Petunia Bazzill. This was used to border the side panels.

The photo was mounted onto a piece of Beeswax Bazzill and added to the bottom left of the 9" square.

Then with scraps of the Bazzill used already, I die cut a lot of leaf fronds with two sets of Sizzix Thinlits from Tim Holtz - Funky Floral #1 and Funky Floral #2. These were arranged around the edges of the layout onto the Lace Bazzill.

I cut letters for the title with the Mardi Gras Bazzill and the Sizzix Bigz Die - Handmade. These letters were coated with Glossy Accents. Tulleys Farm was written with with Pinkfresh Studio Just A Little Lovely - Mini Puffy Alpha Stickers.

For the second page I used another sheet of Lace Bazzill. With a Tim Holtz Layering Stencil,  Distress Inks and a blending tool I inked small hexagons randomly onto the Bazzill.

I cut some of the hexagons from paper #21 of the Truly Grateful collection, inked them and arranged them onto the layout. Then from paper #06 I cut the top and bottom rows of zig-zags cutting along the scalloped lines. I inked them and added them to the layout.

I decorated the points of the zig-zags with some tiny purple flat-backed pearls. Then I added some pink, mustard, purple and white pearls randomly over the layout.

Finally I die cut more leaf fronds as for the first page, and added then in pairs around the layout.

Love Sweet Love

Welcome to the fourth wedding layout made using the Papermaze October Kit!  This week I'm on the Papermaze blog with this layout showing George and Catherine in a field after the service using the very pretty, romantic kit.

The photo I have used is one of the professional pictures taken by Richard of The Other Day Photography just before the wedding ceremony at Cooling Castle Barn.

The items I used from the kit are:
Kaisercraft - Two Souls Collection - Leafy, Pinkini Bazzill, large pearls, twine, cream buttons.

From my stash I used:  Jet Black Archival Ink, Stitches stamps from 49 & Market, Distress Oxide Inks, Nuvo Crystal Drops, Nuvo Glitter Drops, Tim Holtz Thinlits Shadow Script #1 set, Pink Fresh Studios Tiny Puffy Alpha Stickers.

I have made four layouts with this kit so far and still have all of this left over. Plenty to make another layout or some cards.

Thanks for looking.

Aunty & Uncle

I chose this lovely sheet of paper when shopping at Papermaze recently and the colours worked well with the photo of us, as Aunty and Uncle at my nephew's wedding.

The paper is called 'Meadow' from the Indigo Hills 2 collection by Pink Fresh.
I gutted the centre of the wreath with a craft knife, carefully cutting around each of the leaves. Then backed the space with a sheet of 'Misty' from the Indigo Skies collection by Kaisercraft. The leaves were then raised with 3D foam pads to add dimension.
I used the reverse side of 'Meadow' to make a mat for the photo.

The title was cut from the denim side of 'Chambray' paper, also from the Indigo Skies collection. I used Crafter's Companion dies.

I added paper blossoms and a pearl swirl from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Scarlett Rose

Scarlett Rose is the newest member of the family, she is my great niece, born to my nephew Sam and his fiancée Chelsey last November. I can't really believe this cute little baby girl is already 6 months old!

I made this using the delightful April kit from Papermaze, These kits are such great value for money and you get six sheets of patterned paper, 2 sheets of Bazzill and a bag of embellishments. I also had the extra 4 sheets of matched cardstock. The colours are stunning, not sure my photo does them justice. Here is a photo of the kit. I have only made one page so far, but there is plenty more to play with.

I used three sheets of Bazzill for the base of this layout. The first was Whirlpool, the second Blossom and the third layer was Lily. I cut the latter two down in size slightly to give a fine border and the former two were gutted.

I just loved the little square designs on the Kind paper from the Be You collection by Pink Fresh. The reminded me of the flower dies in the new Sizzix Thinlits Funky Floral #3 set from Tim Holtz, so I simply had to combine the two!
I used a QuicKutz alphabet for 'SCARLETT ROSE' and another Sizzix Thinlits Tim Holtz set for the months (thanks for the loan Sandra x).
